****Chapter 12: I’m here****

I couldn’t sleep last night. I was too stressed about my speech, not as easy as I had planned. I had it all planned out in my head, I was going to get home, sit at my desk for 2hrs or so and then I would be done. Not that easy, I got home started maybe 5 times before I finally found a way to start it then I spent another 4 hours writing the rest. It took a total of 6 hours. I didn’t get home until about 8; I took a shower and finally started it by 9:30. So let’s just say I finished at 3:30 so I was very tired. I finally changed and crawled into bed. I fell asleep instantly. I woke up to a loud knocking at my door.

 “Cammy? You there? Are you ok?” I heard Jake’s voice sounding panicked.

I quickly jumped from my bed and ran to the door. I opened it and Jake saw me and just took me in his arms the look of panic left his face. He let me go holding me out looking me over as to check if I was ok.

“You ok? Are you hurt? Did something happen? Why didn’t you answer my texts or the door?” he said all in one quick breath.

“I’m fine, no harm. I was still sleeping, why didn’t you tell me you wear going to come early?” I asked.

“I’m not early its 11am. Did you get any of my texts?”  He let out finally looking relieved. To see that concern in him really touched me. He really cared about me; he was worried that I could have been hurt.

“Oh wow. It is 11. I was up late last night writing my speech and I didn’t get to sleep till 3:30. I must have slept through my alarm. I’m sorry I worried you baby” I said as he wrapped his arms around me in a tight hug, I could tell this time it was just to say I love you. Which was perfectly fine since I loved being in his warm embrace.

“It’s ok Cammy. Just don’t worry me like that again ok? I thought something happened to you.” He said.

 Then he gently kissed my forehead and began to rub my lower back. I pushed away slightly with my arms still around him.

“How about we just chill out for a while because I need to get more energy and I will have to get ready at 4 because I have to be there at 6. Also do you want to get ready here? I have the guest bathroom and shower you can use.” I asked hoping he would agree because he was my date after all.

“OK that works for me. I will pick up my suit from my house later. My mom invited you over for a nice lunch since she can’t make it tonight. So you go get changed and in about 10mins we will head on over. Sound like a plan baby?” he asked as I nodded and headed to my room to change.

I forgot that my pjs consisted of a skimpy tank top and very short shorts because I could feel his eyes looking me up and down stopping at my butt. I just turned around quickly shook my head at him and turned back to my bedroom. He knew what I meant but he didn’t care, he continued to stare. I walked over to my drawer and grabbed my underwear, a flowing spring green halter top and a pair of dark denim jeans. I pulled my hair back into a simple bun, and decided not to apply any makeup because I was just going to see the two of them and they have both seen me without makeup so many times before, it didn’t matter.

I stepped outside me my door to see Jake anxiously waiting for me.

“Wow, someone looks beautiful as always” he said as he came up to me and to my surprise, picked me up bridal style and carried me to the door. I was so shocked and loving his spontaneous ways all I could do was laugh and smile at him.
