My not so perfect body

Chapter 20: bella

"So where are we going again." I asked acting bored.

"It's a surprise."

"You know I don't like surprises Lisa."

She didn't respond. And that got me worried. I'm blindfolded in her car and all I can here is cars and music from the radio. I trust Lisa so I know she's not going to kill me but still. A girl likes to know where she is taken against her will, right?

"Okay we're  here." Lisa said parking the car and turning off the engine.

We unbuckled our belts and I asked if I can take off my blind fold and she said in a moment.

She helped me out of her car and I closed the door and heard another door open and a tiny bell.
And then I smelled it and that gave everything away.

"Okay are you ready for the big surprise?" Lisa asked getting excited.

"We're at the pet shop." I said.

"We're at the pet shop- oh," she said the same moment she took off my blind fold and she looked disappointed, "you're no fun." She whined.

I giggled at her reaction and fixed my hair since the blind fold messed it up a bit and waited for my eyes to adjust to the bright sun.

"The smell gave it away."

"Oh." She smelled the air but didn't smell anything. She smiled at me. "Well yes, it is the pet shop but you don't know my plans. Now let's go."

We walked through the pet shop and there were a few people shopping and kids looking at the birds.

There were also bunnies and lizards and also dogs and cats in the far back.

I still wasn't sure what her plans are. Is she getting me a job here?
Am I going to meet her boss?
Oh no, I'm not prepared.

"Hey Lisa. W-why are we here again?" I asked fiddling with my fingers feeling my palms getting sweaty.

"There's someone I want you to meet." She said continuing to walk to the back and was about to open a white door that said employees only.

"Wait!" I exclaimed startling her.

"What." She said looking me at as if I was crazy for almost giving her a heart attack.

"I'm not sure what you're doing but I'm not ready for a job Lisa. I'm sorry, tell your manager I am declining his offer."

Lisa stares at me and starts to laugh at me.

"Stevie calm down I'm not getting you a job here. I know you and I know how you are with people and animals."

I nodded my head.

"Look," Lisa started getting serious,"things are getting serious and what I'm about to give you will hopefully make things just a bit better in your life."

Lisa goes in the room leaving me out and comes out with a little brown puppy in her arms.

My mouth goes open and my eyes go wide as I stare at the brown fuzziness in her arms.

"She's so adorable." I petted the heard and the fur was really soft.

Lisa was staring at me smiling as I continue to give my full attention to the puppy.

"Do you want to hold her for a sec?"

"Uh yeah sure."

She hands her to me and she slightly wakes up. She was so small and fluffy. I couldn't keep my eyes off her.

"Her name is Bella."

" beautiful. Hi Bella you're so smol and fluffy." I was smiling like an idiot and I rocked Bella as if she was a baby.

"Take care of her."

I finally looked away from Bella and looked at Lisa confused.

"What?"

"I want you to take Bella home and give her a good home."

"Oh Lisa I can't do that I don't know how."

"Don't worry you need her I promise everything will be fine." She takes a deep breath and let's it out. " she's one of the new arrivals and she came from an abusive home. She's only a year old and is afraid of loud noises. I really want her to be in a good home and my first thought was you. Everything will be okay. The charges are done you don't need to sign anything or buy anything it's all covered. Just take her home and love her." 

I thought about it for a minute  and wasn't sure if I can do this. I have anxiety and problems in the head. I don't want to damage this sweet thing. I looked at Bella as she sleeps in my arms and I noticed something. She fits so well in my arms and looks so peaceful. Not once did she whine or move around or anything. Just sleeping away in my arms. I felt her little heart beat and I knew I couldn't let her go even if I tried.

"Okay I'll take good care of her."

Lisa takes me home....takes Bella and I home and helps me unpack the fuzz balls things and essentials.

Hopefully my mum is okay with me keeping Bella. I am literally infatuated with this creature and it's only been two hours.

"Okay if you have any questions just call me and I'll get you a discount in the shop." Lisa gives me a hug and kisses Bella on the head and leaves.

It's now that Bella is awake from her slumber and is now staring at me.

"Okay uh welcome to your new home Bella. Now be patience with me cuz I'm new to this okay. Well take care of each other okay. Now let's go meet my mum."
