The next morning, I rode to school with Tanner like usual. Outside the air was cold and the sky was shielded with clouds. There was no ray of sunlight visible. It stayed that way all day.
During activity period, I went to the library to have Jake read to me. He was making wonderful progress on his reading. When it was time to go, I walked Jake to his class. On the way I asked him did he believe in God?
"Yes," he answered. "Do you believe in God?"
"I don't know," I told him.
"That's okay. I'll pray and ask Jesus to help you believe, okay?"
"Okay, man," I agreed.
At the library after school, Felisha ordered the books we thought other teens would like. She also admitted that Pastor Frank told her how he felt about her. They were going to spend Valentine's Day together which was this Sunday.
Somehow in some parts of my life it was getting better.
Everyday my relationship with Tanner grew more serious. I loved to hear him talk about his faith and God, but I still had my doubts that he really liked me.
Wednesday
Wednesday night Tanner brought me to church and from the looks of it; Felisha and Pastor Frank were hitting it off pretty well. I was so happy for them. They both shone when they were in the same room.
After the service, Tanner asked if I wanted to eat dinner at his parents' house this Friday.
Thursday
That Thursday, my dad had one of his anger outbursts.
It's been almost three weeks since Tanner and I started talking and I still haven't told him about the situation about my dad.
One of the reason's (the main reason) why I didn't mention it to him was, because I was scared he would break up with me. Another reason why was that I didn't want it to become a shock to his parents if they found out.
