Syd's POV
BEEP BEEP BEEP. "Ugh." I groaned as I sat up. I stared at my bedside table for a minute, thinking
about the weekend. I smiled when I thought about when Sam and I went to get coffee. It was one of the
few times there had been awkwardness and even though it was hilarious, it was also a little
nervewracking. I don't know why it was different than usual. Nothing in our relationship had changed...
right?
Anyway, I threw on some jeans, a plain grey long sleeve t shirt, my patagonia vest and some bean
boots. I pulled my hair up into a ponytail and put in all my earrings. I grabbed my stuff and headed out
to the truck but someone was already there. They rolled down the window and I smiled. It was Ethan.
He gave him one of his sweet grins and called out cheekily, "I thought I'd give you a ride. I mean, you
might as well save on gas, plus we don't want to hurt the environment." I rolled my eyes. "Uh huh." I got
in and we made small talk as we drove to school.
When we arrived, several people were waiting for us. Charlie was smiling sweetly, Nick was frowning
(what the heck?) and Sam's eyes lingered on Ethan an extra second before smiling at us. Okayy... that
was weird. Charlie clappd Ethan on the back and they walked off. Ethan looked back and shot me a
grin. I returned the smile but was really confused. I turned to see Nick and Sam staring at me. "What?" I
said, as innocently as I could. Nick rolled his eyes and Sam snorted. "I have never seen you blush in
your entire life until now. Got anything to tell us?" Sam questioned. I clenched my jaw. If I wasn't sure of
my feelings, I most certainly was not going to say anything to these boys. I smiled. "Nope."
I hoisted my backpack and walked off smirking. The next thing I know, two pairs of arms are lifting me
up in the air. I didn't flinch but stayed stiff. Sam noticed my expression and he looked concerned but
said, "We won't put you down until you admit you like him." I continued to stared ahead. Nick laughed,
"That's fine, we'll just tell the whole school then. HEY EVERYONE" All students heads turned towards
him. "SYD HERE LI-" He was cut off by a punch in the gut by my fist. A couple people snickered and
they went back to whatever they were doing before. Nick coughed and glared at me, a hint of
amusement in his eyes. Sam was trying to hide his smile. I rolled my eyes. "Fine, y'all win. I like Ethan.
A lot." I glared at them, making sure they were happy with what I just told them. After all, I haven't said
anything to anybody, not even S. Their reactions were the exact opposite of what I was expecting. Sam
chewed on the inside of his lip and Nick muttered, "Oh, yeah.. that's cool." I frowned. "Isn't that what y'all
wanted me to say?" Sam coughed. "Uh, yeah but I think we were kinda sorta maybe hoping you
