Syd's POV
It was after practice, Sam and I were sitting my room. He was laying on my bed and I was sitting in my
desk chair. "You don't get it Syd! I'm so happy I found her! I've never really been one for serious
relationships but... I can see this happening!" I looked at him and tried not to scream. I forced a smile.
"That's great Sam. But do you really know that she's 'Cinderella'?" I used my fingers as quotes when I
said Cinderella. He rolled his eyes. "Why would it not be her? She told me it was. And I believe her." He
frowned, as if second guessing his statement. "The only thing is... when I kissed her" I looked down "it
didn't feel the same. I guess that's what happens when you have the whole weekend to think about it
and make it seem better than it actually was." I nodded, pretending to agree. I cleared my throat. "Um..
I'm really gross. I'm gonna take a shower. You can stay and wait or let yourself out." He nodded. "Yeah,
I have to go anyway. But we'll talk later?" I smiled. He got off the bed and hugged me. "Thanks for being
so supportive. I really appreciate it." I nodded weakly. He walked out the door. I went into the bathroom
and locked the door.
Sam's POV
Talking to Syd was great. She seemed really good about this. I could tell something was up though.
She wasn't acting like herself. Oh well. She's unpredictable, that girl. Oh shoot. I left my phone on her
bed. Sighing, I began to walk back up the stairs. I entered her room and heard Syd singing along with
her phone in the shower. Smiling to myself, I began to look for my phone. It wasn't on the bed. Getting
on my hands and knees, I looked under the bed. I guess it could've fallen off. I saw a glint of something.
That must be it. I grabbed it but when I pulled it out, it wasn't my phone. It was fabric. I pulled the rest of
it out and gasped. It was the dress. The dress that belonged to the girl I danced with. I shoved it back
under the bed. No, it couldn't be... Maybe Syd and Emily were wearing the same dress. Maybe, it was
Syd's dress and she let Emily borrow it. There's gotta be some explanation. I saw a glint behind a pillow
and found my phone. I looked under the bed again. There was a box of shoes. Slowly, I pulled out the
box and opened the top. It was a pair of gold, glittering pumps. I swallowed hard and shoved the box
back under. I heard Syd turn off the water. I grabbed my phone and practically sprinted out the door.
I was lying on my back on my bed. A million thoughts were going through my head. I looked at the
picture on my phone of me and the girl I danced with. It didn't show her shoes. I decided to call Emily.
The phone rang three times and it went to voicemail. "Hey Emily, it's Sam. I really need you to call me
back. I have a question for you. Okay... bye." I lay there, thinking, when my phone rang. It was Emily. I
