Sam's POV
I nervously gripped my prop to ask Syd to prom and waited for the signal. One of the guys from across
the field held his phone ready to video. I heard the music blast across the stadium and I knew that it
meant Syd had walked onto the field... blindfolded. The guys and I walked out and stood in front of her.
Nick removed the blindfold from her face and ran to get in the line. One by one, we lifted up our shirts,
uncovering four different letters and a question mark. She laughed as it got to me, as I was practically
begging. She nodded and hugged me. "See, now was that so hard?" I rolled my eyes at her and
squeezed her gently.
We walked back to the cars to go home and she finally said, "That was cute. Not really romantic, good
cause I love football, and slightly weird. So thanks." I nodded at her and opened her door for her. "No
problem. And I really want to be your friend right now. I know you are hurting and everything so I just
want you to know, I'm here for you. And I love you, you'll always be my best friend." She smiled at me as
she climbed into her truck. "I know. And... give it time. I think that we could work out." That made me
smile.
