What is love? (Natsu x Reader)

Chapter 3

-Your POV-

So its now Tuesday and I decided that maybe Levy forcing me to hang out with everyone on Saturday might not be so bad. It'll be good to reconnect with everyone, and I guess get to know this Natsu guy more. He seems nice and If he's important to my friends then I might as well get to know him better, right?

Anyways I got up and got ready for school like any other day and met up with Levy since we walked to school together.

"Hey Lev!" I said while waving to my short, blue haired friend.

"Morning (y/n)!" She replied with a smile as she walked closer.

"So I was thinking..." I started and also noticed that I peaked her interest.

"Yea?"

"I gueesssssssss I'll go hang out with everyone on Saturday."

She only laughed. "(Y/n) you didn't really have a choice, you're going whether you want to or not."

"I know... but I've decided that maybe it wont be so bad."

"It's gonna be great (y/n)!! I promise." Levy said while making a little 'x' over her heart which implied that she was being serious.

"I hope so..."

-Natsu's POV-

"Dang it! Im gonna be late!!" I yelled as I ran around my room while grabbing stuff for school. Its no surprise that Im gonna be late, I usually am but If Im late again then I wont be able to compete in this Friday's basketball game.

I ran out of my room and then down the stairs and into the kitchen. I saw my mom and she had made me some toast and handed it to me as I ran out of the house.

"Thanks mom!!"

After that I ran all the way to school, but it wasn't that far.

~Le time skip~

-Your POV-

Levy and I were sitting in our first period class while we were still waiting for Mr. Clive to show up. The whole class was talking when suddenly a pink blob ran into the room.

"IM HERE, IM HERE IM NOT LATE I SWEAR."

"Oooooo Natsu youre laaatteeee~" Levy teased him as he sat down in his seat in front of me, clearly out of breath.

"Shush it Lev, If I get another tardy then I can't play in the basketball game on Friday." He pouted slightly.

"You're on the basketball team?" I asked in an attempt to join the conversation.

"Not only is he on the team, Natsu here is the captain." Levy said while nudging me.

He smiled and looked over at me, "Yea! And as long as Levy here doesn't tell Mr. C that I was late then you should totally come to the game and watch us destroy  Sabertooth!"

His smile and excitement over a game made me blush ever so slightly, but not to where anyone could see it.

"Really? You want me to go to your game?" I asked and looked at him, but again not in his eyes since I still don't know him all that well and eye contact is weird for me.

"Of course! I need someone to cheer me on since Levy only cheers for Gajeel and Lucy only goes to the games for Loke," then he leaned in closer to me and whispered, "but if you tell her I told you that she'd probably kill me."

Before I could say anything in response, Levy butted in. "(Y/n) I think you should come to the game with us! After all, it would be the first game since you moved back and you should see how good the team is now!"

I looked back and forth at the two, they were leaning in closely to me, eager for my answer to their offers.

"Sure, why not. It sounds like fun!"

"YESSSSS" They both yelled in unison.

~Le Time Skip because the author doesn't know where else to take that~

It's Friday and all the girls were getting ready to go to the game at Levy's house.

All the girls were all wearing their own basketball jerseys with the number of their favorite player on it.

Levy had one with the number 27 on it for Gajeel, Erza wore one with number 56 for Jellal, Lucy had 77 for Loke. But Lucy wore a jacket over hers so no one could see it since she hasn't told Loke how she felt yet. I didn't have one because I didn't really like anyone like that on the team, at least I wasn't going to admit it to anyone yet. Levy gave me one with the number 8 on it so we could all match.

We made our way to the school's gym and took our seats. It wasn't long before the team came running out into the gym and started practicing a few shots before the game started.

My attention was immediately drawn to the pink haired boy wearing a white basketball jersey with the number 8 on it.

"Levy!!" I whisper yelled since she was sitting right next to me.

"Yessss (y/n)~?" She cooed.

"You purposely gave me a shirt with Natsu's number on it, didn't you?!?"

"Yes I did. Natsu asked you to come to the game to cheer him on and you said yes, so of course I gave you his number."

I sat back in my seat with my arms crossed and turned my attention back to the basketball court.

I was watching the team when I realized that Natsu had noticed us sitting in the bleachers, he immediately smiled and waved at all of us. We all waved back and when I moved my arms you could see the number I was wearing, and even though he was kinda far away, I could've swore I saw him blushing after he saw me wearing the number 8.

-3rd Person POV-

The game started soon after that and Natsu and Sting from Sabertooth met in the middle of the court.

"What's wrong Dragneel? Your face is all red. You worried that you're gonna lose already?" Sting smirked as he noticed Natsu's blush but didn't realize that it was him blushing.

Natsu only glared at him and his blush soon faded as he focused on beating Sabertooth instead of (y/n) wearing his number.

After a lot of back and forth between Fairy Tail High and Sabertooth High, in the end Fairy Tail won at the last second with Loke shooting the winning basket. All the girls ran down to the court and Gajeel hugged Levy, Lucy shyly went to congratulate Loke on his winning shot. Jellal and Erza were talking about doing something after the game. And then there was (y/n) who was wandering around the court until a certain pink haired captain tapped her shoulder.
