Chapter 23

-Natsu's POV-

I can't believe she didn't tell me. Im not mad or anything, Im just worried. I wanna make sure that she's alright. I went to the store and grabbed a bunch of medical stuff and some ice cream. I figured it would make her feel better. Actually I bought a lot of stuff. I got pain medicine, other medical stuffs, bath salts, bath soap, ice cream, chocolate, a fluffy pillow, a new blanket, and a pair of slippers. Too much? Nah, I want to pamper her.

"(Y/n) Im back!" I called out as I dropped all of the bags on the floor.

She got up from the couch and met me by the door. "What did you do? Buy the whole store?" Her voice was laced with exhaustion. Her eyes were all droopy too. Did I wake her up? Damn it.

I smiled sheepishly and rubbed the back of my neck while looking at the stuff I bought. "Um no, just the necessities. And you should be laying down. Here," I found the pillow amongst all the stuff along with the blanket and laid them on the couch. "lay back down while I put this stuff away" She nodded and did as I asked. The only things I really put away were the food and bath stuff. I kept the medicines in the living room.

"So what exactly did you buy?"

"Umm, well I wasn't exactly sure what was wrong with your back so I got a few things. I got some pain medicine because I thought it would help, and then this muscle relaxing stuff so your muscles dont tense up" I sat in front of her on the floor while looking at the two bottles. "So I figured, we could put this stuff on your back," I lifted up the muscle relaxing cream, "and then you could take some pain medicine and see if it helps?" I dont know how to take care of an injured person, but I know that (Y/n) does, sorta. She told me once about how her and Romeo took care of a bird who hurt its wing.

"That sounds like a good idea, but Im curious about all of the other stuff you bought" She folded her arms and laid her head on top of them while laying on her stomach, turning her head to face me. She was stunning, it took my breath away.

"C-Can I?" I asked while gesturing the cream towards her back, I wanted to make sure it was okay with her. She nodded and buried her face in her arms with her head still turned towards me. I folded over the bottom part of her shirt to see her back slightly purple, completely covered by a bruise. I know I have to be careful. I squeezed some of the stuff on to my hands and gently rubbed it on her back. "I've never taken care of someone before, like if they were hurt or sick. So I wasn't really sure what I could buy that would help you. But I want to help you in any way I can, so I figured I could buy some stuff to at least make you comfortable"

I finished putting the cream on her back and I leaned against the arm rest of the couch, but I kept my gaze on her. But then she did something that I wasn't expecting. She scooted forward on the couch and kissed my cheek. "Thank you Natsu, for everything" she whispered since she didn't need to be louder.

I fumbled with my words and scratched the back of my head. "N-no problem (Y/n)" I stuttered while a horrible pink blotched my cheeks.

Cue evil smirk, now.

My original plan may have come across a few bumps in the road, but I got what I wanted. To see Natsu as flustered as he always makes me, and then teases me about it. Just once, and I got it. I mayyyyy have gotten a bruised back in the process, but thats not what's important. "Hey Natsu?"

"Hm?" He hummed.

"Dont we have to go back to school soon?" My hand was hanging off the edge of the couch, Natsu however, picked it up in his, lacing his fingers with mine.
