Chapter 29

The dress was incredible to say the least. Within a few minutes, Levy and Lucy showed up because they wanted to do my hair and makeup. That only took a few painful hours... But I'd say its totally worth it.

So here we are at the dance, and I couldn't be happier. Natsu's jaw practically hit the floor when he saw me, and my expression mirrored his. Yes, I had already seen him in his tux when I got home, but he still looked amazing. The night so far had consisted of his endless compliments, many pictures, and a beautiful corsage. Gajeel and Loke looked nice as well, they were both stunned after seeing Levy and Lucy. And just like Natsu, their ties matched their date's dresses.

I haven't seen Erza or Mira yet, but I figured they were here somewhere with their dates as well, Jellal and Laxus. Right now, every thing seems perfect, Im slow dancing with my incredible boyfriend. Its like I don't have a care in the world, like nothing can bring me down from the high Im on.

"Have I told you how breathtaking you look in that dress?" Natsu whispered in my ear due to our closeness.

"A few times," I had answered him back, clear amusement in my voice. Im glad the dim lights provided a shield to hide my rosy cheeks. Even though I had already heard his countless compliments, they still had a effect on me.

"They should give an award to the prettiest girl here, you would win it in a heartbeat."

"Natsu-"

"But then I would have to fight off every guy to keep their eyes off of you,"

"Natsu-"

"Because you're my girlfriend. Mine. And I dont like sharing,"

"Natsu!"

"Yes, beautiful?" I groaned and buried my face in his shoulder to escape his never ending compliments. My actions got a chuckle as a reaction from him, but he pulled me closer to his chest by tightening his grip around my waist.

About half way through the dance, our principal stepped on the stage with a microphone.

"Thank you all for coming tonight, I hope you're all having a good time."

That resulted in a few cheers from our fellow students.

"But, now its the time that everyone has been waiting for; the crowning of Mrs. and Mr. Winter."

Yep, you heard right. Its almost like homecoming king and queen, or prom king and queen. Except this is winter formal, so they call it 'Mrs. and Mr. Winter' and its just as lame. But secretly everyone wants to be crowned. Now Natsu stood behind me as we faced the stage, but his arms were still wrapped around my waist, only from behind this time.

I wasn't on the Winter Court, but Natsu was since he was the captain of the basketball team. Loke and Gray were his competition, and the girls were Lucy, Juvia, and Erza. Speaking of, where was Gray? I haven't seen him in awhile. Im not even sure if he's here.

"We'll start with the boys, and the winner is..."

"I hope you get it Natsu," I whispered to him with a smile on my face.

"I don't, it wouldn't mean anything to me being Mr. Winter if I didn't have my Mrs. up there with me." He said while kissing my cheek.

"...Gray Fullbuster!"

The crowd erupted into more screams and cheers for him. I was happy for him, I would've been happy no matter who won because they're all my friends. Eventually Gray made his way up to the stage, and the crown was placed on his head. He was even smiling! Gray Fullbuster was smiling, that was definitely an unexpected sight. Not saying that he's always grumpy, it just wasn't a very common sight. I personally think its because he needs a girlfriend, but he would kill me if I told him that.
