Dear Mr. and Mrs. Piece of Paper,

Yes, there are two of you now! It's a good thing too, because my writing was getting really small and cramped on that first piece.

So on Sunday night I went out, armed and supplied with some extra bread. There were only boring zombies around my cabin though, so I went deeper into the dark, following some small red dots.

The small red dots were spider eyes! I battled a few of them, collected some string and spider eyes, and didn't take too much damage, thanks to my armor.

I think the string will be really useful, but what do you do with spider eyes? I can't cook them, and neither Nosey or Rosy will eat them raw. Maybe I could eat them, but I'm not that desperate. Yet.

After killing a few spiders, I ran into a skeleton. Those mobs are tough to kill! Their ranged attack does lots of damage as you run up to them. But once I got within striking distance, they were no match for my iron sword. This skeleton dropped a bone, and when I went to check my inventory, I noticed an arrow stuck in my helmet! Good thing I was wearing one.

I was wandering around, looking for another skeleton, when I heard a weird hissing sound. A creeper! I don't know how to kill creepers yet, except for letting them explode themselves, but that does a lot of damage to anyone standing nearby also.

I jumped and ran, and only got hit with a little bit of the explosion. I understand the name "creeper," as they are quite, um, creepy, the way they sneak up on you, but isn't it dumb to explode yourself? It's like they're not even trying to survive!

Anyway, running away from the creeper is how I got lost. It was dark, so I don't know how far I traveled. I couldn't see anything, and after a while, I couldn't even move. I thought I was probably stuck in a clump of trees, so I waited there until the sun rose. I had my sword out the whole time, but no other mobs came to bother me.

The sun finally rose, and I ate some of the bread I had packed. Then I crawled my way out of the trees and leaves, and I found a small river. With sugarcane!

I think I'm getting smarter though, because this time I didn't pick it right away. I walked around and noticed that the sugarcane was only growing on sand blocks that were right next to water blocks. Was this the key to growing my own? Finally, I picked the sugarcane and climbed up a small hill to get a good look around. There was my cabin, far away in the east. There was lots of forest in the north, where I had spent the rest of the night. To the south and west were more snowy and icy plains, but just as I was about to leave, I thought I spotted something in the snow. It looked like a structure, maybe a building. It was white, so it was hard to see in all the snow, but it was definitely something.

I could probably find that hill again if I wanted to explore further.

I spent the rest of the day slowly walking home, snacking on bread along the way. Good thing I planned ahead.

The total items I collected from this mob hunting adventure are: four pieces of rotten flesh, two spider eyes, three pieces of string, one arrow, one bone, five sugarcane plants, and the knowledge of one mysterious building in the west.

I think I'll spend the rest of the day tending my wheat farm and trying to plant the leftover sugarcane.

Later.

Alex
