Ah vacation. A time to get away from the responsibility that school carried. Your family had booked a nice little timeshare. It reminded you of home. It was almost always sunny where you lived so to vacation in a place where rain was frequent was amazing to you. You leaned over the balcony of the timeshare, taking in the view of everything. Suddenly you eyes caught sight of something glimmering in the distance. It was a pool. A very big one from what you could see. You rushed back inside the share and into  the room you were assigned with your sister. "Where are you headed (Y/N)", She inquired. "I just found out they have a pool here", you smiled, throwing on your favorite swimming suit. Your sister shrugged and went back to scrolling through her phone. You ducked out into the hallway hollering to your parents that would be back in a few hours. You grabbed a cover up hanging by the door and slid on your shoes. Racing down the stairs, being careful not to trip, you worked your way to the pool. Opening the gate into the woods you heard voices coming from not far off the marked trail. So you closed the gate and began making your way along the marked path to the pool. The scene that unfolded before you was amazing. The pool was bigger than you had first imagined, glistening even with the looming presence of the clouds. Suddenly you spotted her. A beautiful African American girl doing laps in the pool. By the way she swam you could tell that she knew what she was doing. You couldn't take your eyes off of the female. You set down your towel that you picked up on the nearest pool chair. You walked to the deep end of the pool, got close enough to where you could preform, and dove into the water. You resurfaced from the water to see the female looking at you. She worked her way over to you and stopped, bobbing as she did so. "Hiya! I'm Aoi Asahina", She exclaimed reaching out a hand as best she could. You took her hand before introducing yourself to her. "Hello Aoi. I'm (Y/N), (Y/N) (L/N)."
She smiled. "How long have you been able to swim like that Aoi", You asked, curious as to how she developed those amazing skills. "They just came naturally I figure", She replied. She quickly ducked her head underwater to wet her hair and resurfaced a moment later. You two found some common ground over your mutual love of doughnuts and swimming. The time deemed to fly by. The minutes spent swimming with her ticking endlessly. Suddenly you felt a small drop on your shoulder. You looked around as the small drops of water started falling into the pool. Aoi laughed as you two cambered to get out of the pool. Fortunately there wasn't any lighting but it was hard enough rain to drive you two under an umbrella. "Well that was uneventful", She laughed, giving you a hug. You nodded, smiling, and hugged her back. As the rain started to slow you offered to take her back to her timeshare. She agreed and you two slowly worked your way back to the share, talking all the while. "Listen I had fun today", She smiled, "We should do this again." Suddenly she pecked you on the cheek and waved as she ducked inside the share. You walked back, hand on your cheek.
"Maybe this rainy day was a blessing in disguise."
