“No! You left that out!” Andrea squealed as Mara sank into the couch in Andreas parents living room. Her head was reeling from the fact that she would have to spend over an hour with the beast alone.
Her Aunt, well she was clearly pissed at the nosey woman for rummaging around in her non-existent love life. Alec had relayed his wishes to Clarisse just before Mara stepped into her room that night, when Alec left she squealed in excitement just as Andrea did.
“Do you know what this means?” Her aunt grabbed her by the shoulders and grinned from ear to ear.
“No, what?” Mara asked warily.
Of course she didn’t’ really care what the response was, she just about knew how excited her aunt was. Just like Andrea.
“Yeah well, it sucks when you’re forced into a date.” Mara blatantly told her friend.
Andrea waved the word ‘forced’ away. Nonsense, why would Alec do that? She would make sure Mara was ready for the date, she would do her hair (tame that wild birds nest) do her nails, pick her wardrobe! Oh it would be wonderful.
She was even a tad bit jealous of her friend going on an actual date. Dates to Rafe were hanging out in his bedroom or rolling around in the grass under the moon. Rarely did he ever think to take her on a legit date.
Mara scowled and pinched herself from not staying at home. If Andrea kept it up she would do just that, sadly she had come to her house to get away from her Aunts enthusiasm.
Can’t someone understand me for a minute?
She pinched the flesh on her right palm and counted the hours until Alec would be there. Seven o’clock he had told her. At that moment, looking at her beat up old watch she sighed at the time, three thirty seven p.m. Nearly four hours until her death by smothering. Mara badly wanted to tell Andrea how strange Alec was, how temperamental and sadistic he would be, but she would just write it off as nerves. Everyone wanted what was best for her, what about what she wanted?
Were they all too busy trying to marry her off that they failed to see that she didn’t want Alec? She wanted something different from the brutish sly man. She wanted peace, difference, kindness, meekness. What Alec gave off was arrogance.

He stared down at the girl under him, no hint of emotion other than his need to fulfill himself by searching her. She squirmed underneath him and rasped in his chest as he continued with his frenzied movements.
She’d complied with him, the blond haired Taylor in hopes that he would leave her alone once he got what he wanted. He grunted into her neck and bit the soft flesh of her exposed skin. Her eyes searched around the room, from one object to another as she cried out in pain from the damage he wreaked on her. She loved him, didn’t she? But her love for him was strange, he both scared and fascinated her in ways that she couldn’t imagine.
Rape, is that what he was doing to her at that moment?
She didn’t know.
“Say it,” He whispered.
Say what? She thought.
“Tell me how much you love me.”
Did she love him at that moment? No, she felt that a little of her love had leaked away the moment he cornered her in her own room while her parents hunted. How did he have this much access to everyone?
Did he have the right to push her up against her door and strip her of every article of clothing she wore and demand that she lay on the bed and open herself up to him.
