Mystery

 A/N: This is a short chapter but I hope you enjoy it.

I finally got it together and started walking. I had tons of thoughts going through my mind.

"Why did he kiss me?"

"Why did I like the kiss?"

"Do I actually like Steven?"

I had so many questions going through my head, I couldn't think straight. I needed to sit down and think. I walked along the bare sidewalk toward the park. I didn't see anyone. Once in a great while I saw a car pass by but that was it. Finally I made it to the park and I sat down on a swing just absent mindly swinging.

It was relaxing but the scene kept going through my head replaying and replaying. I just couldn't get over it.

Suddenly my phone lit up and I looked over at it on the sand and picked it up. It was from Steven.

"We need to talk. Where are you?"

"I'm at the park."

"I'll be right over."

For some reason I really wanted him to get to the park. I didn't know why. Finally he showed up and came up to me.

"First off I'm really sorry, I truly am. I wasn't thinking straight. You probably hate me now but the truth is I like you.. Like a lot."

I put my hands on his shoulders and looked him straight in the eyes.

"I don't hate you, in fact I liked it."

"Really? You mean it?"

"Of course."

I leaned in and said.

"I'll prove it."

With that I kissed him but before I could process I saw a flash and heard a clicking sound.

I pulled back and looked the direction it came from. All I saw was a shadow running away.

"I thought we were the only ones here.." I said and trailed off..

Steven looked really worried.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing is wrong."

I knew he was lying but I didn't say anything.
