Bitter Sweet

*Still Anthony's P.O.V*
I woke up yawning and I looked over at my alarm clock it was 7:15. I forgot to set my alarm! School started at 7:35 so maybe I could make it to school. I ran to the bathroom changed, brushed my teeth and put on deodorant. Afterwards I grabbed my backpack, an apple and ran out the door. Normally my walk takes about 15 minutes but I rode my bike so it would be a lot faster. With an apple in my mouth as I tried to eat it while biking as fast as I can.

I pulled up to school and looked at my phone. It was 7:30. Luckily my class was on the first floor and by the entrance. Also I didn't have to go to my locker because we were allowed to have our backpacks in this class. Thank god Michelle told me this yesterday. I thought as I walked into the class. As soon as I sat down Michelle started talking to me. She told me that her friends were going to eat outside and I could join Michelle and them. I told her I would go. Then the bell rang and our teacher started class.

I didn't pay much attention in class and I kept sneaking glances at Steven. I wanted to know more about him. I really was hoping I would get to be his partner in class but I got paired up with a guy named Adam. Even though I wanted to be Steven's partner I had a fun time with Adam. He was funny and very mischievous. We barely got it done but it wasn't graded so it was fine.

In Health Steven and I meet eyes again. I'm pretty sure my face turned red. I couldn't tell but I could tell his face did. I remembered about Michelle's lunch and wrote Steven a note.

Michelle and her friends are going to have lunch under the trees by the track. I think you should come.

He read the note and put it in his pocket. He didn't really show any emotion in his face but I did see a little bit of a smile. That made me happy. I really hoped that he would go to lunch. It's just lunch but I don't even know what his voice sounds like and I wanted to get to know him better. Today Steven didn't run out of the classroom like he normally does, he walked. I went to my locker, took out my phone and lunch from my backpack. Then I put my backpack in my locker. After that I went down to the place everyone was meeting for lunch.

Michelle and her girlfriend Kristin were there when I got there. A bunch of people were there too but I didn't know them that much and anyways I kept looking for Steven.

I told Michelle that I was going to find Steven because I invited him and he didn't show up yet. I was walking around the halls until until I looked through a window.

There was Steven. He was being beat up by two guys that looked about our age. I had to do something and fast. I opened the window and sprinted across to the field. I was running so fast that I was breathing really heavily but I kept running.

"Hey! What do you think your doing!" I screamed at them

"Something that's none of your business loser." The one on the right said with a horrible grin on his face.

"And anyways you can't do anything about this." The one on the left said smugly.

"It is my business." I replied before tackling them both. One of them punched me in the jaw but I clenched my teeth and tried to ignore it. As I held them down I tossed Steven my phone telling him to have Michelle get the principal. As they were being taken to the principal's office I turned around and looked at Steven.

"Are you alright." I said as I helped him get up from the ground.

"I think so." He replied looking up at me.

That was the first time I heard his voice and I loved it. Just like I loved his green eyes, his beautiful brown hair, and everything about him.

Wait. What am I saying? I barely know him yet everytime I'm around him I feel like I do. It's strange. I thought.

"Anthony, I just want to say thank you."

"I was on my way to the lunch you invited me too. I was afraid you would think I stood you up or something."

"It's ok Steven. It wasn't your fault that happened."

And that's when he hugged me. I held him in my arms and I felt his tears on my shoulder and I just held on to him until he stopped crying. Then he pulled away.

"I'm sorry.. I just did it without thinking." Ze said to me as he wiped his tears away.

I just smiled and walked him back to school.
