Autumn was completely unaware of where she was when she woke up, only that it was warm, and Pharaoh was not with her. The void of emptiness within her scared her. She'd only been with Pharaoh for a short period of time, yet she'd grown far more attached to him than she'd ever dreamed of.

She opened her eyes, squinting a little at the contrasting brightness of the glade she appeared to be in and the comforting darkness of her eyelids.

Slowly she pushed herself of the ground, and looked around. Her movements were sluggish, and she felt relaxed and totally at ease. This worried her slightly. She had just been kidnapped, yet felt no fear! Autumn took in her surroundings.

She was in what appeared to be a small clearing in a forest she assumed to be Du Weldenvarden, though she couldn't be sure. The sunlight filtered through the trees pleasantly, creating patterns across her dark skin. She watched them for a moment, observing their dance, before focusing on figuring out what was going on.

She had been lying on the earthy ground, which was rather uncomfortable. She stood slowly and allowed her stare to pass over the scene. It all seemed rather docile.
The small wooden tables with tools on, the little chairs, the trees swaying, the boy leaning against one, the birds chi- wait, what?

She swung her head back towards the boy who watched her incredibly fast. Too fast apparently, according to the loud 'click' which sounded.

The boy chuckled. He was leaning against a tree, his messy black hair falling over his face, staring rather creepily at Autumn. But there was something oddly familiar about him. They way he held himself, perhaps, or the way one hand was idly running through his hair, or maybe it was those penetrating emerald eyes which seemed to scorch through her soul.

Whatever it was, she decided it annoyed her and glared at him. He frowned back, appearing slightly confused. They remained like that for what must have been the most awkward minute in Autumn's life, before he spoke.

"That blue dragon which was with you sure will be worth plenty" He grinned casually, and Autumn realised what she was up against. Dragon-Stealers. While the uncreative name was rather amusing, from the murmurs she had heard from her old village, Dragon-Stealers were no joke. They were said to prey upon new riders, capturing the dragons and using their powers for Eragon-knows-what.

It was rumoured that they somehow bent the dragons to their will, and while their methods were unknown, she could tell they must be awful from the fact that she couldn't imagine Pharaoh serving anyone. Ever.

She increased her glare to maximum strength, in the hope it would vaporize him. It, to her disappointment, did not.

"Where is Lotha?" She said, her voice coming out as a growl.

"That her name?" The boy grinned. "It's a nice name. Maybe they'll let me keep her, after they tame her. Females are worth more, you know." Autumn was, as an understatement, angry. However, she kept trying to think clearly.

It seemed, she thought, that the boy thought Lotha was her dragon. That must mean that he had somehow not captured, or not seen Pharaoh. The thought gave her some relief.

"Where is she?" Autumn asked the still-not-vaporized boy.

"Oh, she's near enough. Not near enough to hear her roaring as she's tamed." Autumn glowered.

"You can't tame a dragon," She spat, "it's impossible."

The boy grinned, those iridescent green eyes sparkling, and something clicked in her mind.

"You've changed" she said, and his brow furrowed.

"I've never met you before?" His tone was questioning, and Autumn couldn't help the light smirk which graced her lips.

"It's been a while, hasn't it, Taz"
