C H A P T E R 16 - Pushing Forward

Running through the hallways I notice just how big this hideout is. It's not huge, just larger than I thought. Each hallway is so dim, it slightly reminded me of Orochimaru's hideout. I hate remembering the time I spent there. Quickly pushing the thought away, I stop and lean myself against a wall.

I feel so weak, I haven't eaten everince they kidnapped me. Not to mention my wounds weren't helping at all. Still leaning on the wall, I pant as I try to catch my breath. Though I don't have time for that.

'Need to get out of here! Back to the Leaf village and back to Naruto!'

Pushing forward I make my way farther down. Its taking everything I have just to keep moving. With every step I take, I sense an a aching pain shoot up through my legs. I wince at the feeling, but keep moving forward.

Before turning a corner I hear someone's voice. Quickly staying in place, I stop to listen. Soon realizing the person's voice is Rui!

'She's coming this way'

Getting myself ready, I stay silent as I wait for her to come closer. Right before she turns the corner in my direction. I kick Rui straight in the face. The impact from my kick makes her fall back harshly. Rui's head hits the the wall behind her, knocking her out cold. Slowly approaching Rui's limp body, I see that my attack made her face bleed in several places.

'Hmph, she deserved it.'

I grab her legs and drag Rui across the floor. Finding a random room, I take Rui and place her inside it. Wouldn't want anyone to see her lying on the floor. They would get suspicious and my chances of escape would decrease. I don't want that.

I run through the hideout still looking for a way out. Swiftly making my way around I come across a flight of stairs. I move up the stairs in hurry to leave. My body throbs in pain, my wounds are still bleeding. Leaving behind a trail of blood I was oblivious to. Reaching the top I see I'm at the back of long cave, and at the very end was an opening. There it is, my exit, my way out.

I wasn't planning on wasting time standing here, I immediately start running toward the opening. I suddenly stop seeing a kunai fly past me.

"Where do you think your going?" Sato asks, while appearing in front of me.

I growl under my breath knowing he's going to be another obstacle in my way.

"Where do you think?" I say annoyed

"What you don't want to stay? You know I can't let you leave." he says

"Well, I won't let you stop me!" I shout while activating my inostuka.

"How'd you even know where I was?" I ask

"Quite simple really, your wounds left me a nice trail of blood to follow."

Looking down I see he's right there was a small trail of blood leading right to me. How could I be so stupid!

'I need to end this fast, I'm already weak. If I use my inostuka for too long I'll be out chakra, and if that happens I'm as good as gone.' I tell myself

Wanting to get this fight over with I make the first move and sprint towards him. With my right hand, I punch Sato in his stomach. As he bends over in pain I get behind him and kick his back. Making him fall forward. Sato tries to hit me but I dodge. We go back forth like that. Although with my inostuka, Sato can barely touch me. His moves are predictable. I punch, he catches my fist and sweeps his foot underneath me. Causing me to fall.

I soon get up and prepare a jutsu similar to my lightning rod. I dash at Sato and hit him with the purple stream of light in my palm.

"STRIKING BEAM!!!"

The eletric light shines in the cave as my attack hits his chest. Slightly panting, I watch Sato fall to the ground face first. Catching my breath I slowly walk out of the cave. A small breeze blows by, moving my hair softly. I feel light headed and my vision is starting to blur, I think I over did it.

"(Name)!!"

'Who, is that?'

"(NAME)!!!"

"Naruto?" I say quietly

'I'd recognize that voice anywhere. Its really him!'

Even through my blurred vision, I see Naruto running to me. He has a worried expression on his face. I run to him aswell. This felt like a cliché moment in a movie. Where the two lovers run into eachothers arms, but that moment never came. Right before Naruto reaches me I fall forward, hitting the floor. There's a sharp pain in back and suddenly its hard to breath.

Turning slightly, I see Sato had thrown a kunai at my back with the last of his strength. It all happened so fast, yet I feel everything went in slow motion. Naruto sits on the ground next to me. Pulling me into his arms. He keeps yelling, telling me to stay with him but my hearing begins to fade away.

My eyes slowly close as I'm pulled into unconsciousness. The last thing I see is Naruto...crying.
