C H A P T E R 4 - Time Together

Walking out of Lady Tsunade's office, I keep turning to look at Naruto.

'I don't understand why he has to look after me.'

Not that I'm complaining, I don't mind. I'm just curious that's all. Leaving the building I now notice how late it is. The sun is nearly out of sight, while the sky began to turn a light purple-ish blue color. I think today's been the longest day of my life. As of now Naruto and I are walking down a road in the village.

I can't help but look at all the stores and boutiques we pass by. This place was so nice and peaceful. Although the silence between Naruto and myself becomes a little awkward.

'I should say something to him, but what?'

I was continuously wrecking my brain on thoughts of how to start a conversation, when suddenly Naruto says something.

"So you're staying in the Leaf village, huh?"

"Oh, yes Lady Tsunade's letting me stay and become a ninja. I am very greatful to her" I tell him.

"Yeah, granny Tsunade is the best."

"Why do you call her granny Tsunade? She's not old, is she?"

"Well she's in her fifty's, but uses a weird jutsu to make herself look younger" he finished.

"Wow, really?"

"Mmmhm"

Right then, I feel my stomach grumble. I haven't eaten all day. I guess Naruto heard it, cause he looks at me with a smile on his face. Turning away in embarrassment, I cross my arms.

"I'm starting to get hungry too, let's go eat" he suggests

"Who says I'm hungry" I reply.

*Grumble*

"Apparently your stomach" Naruto says snickering at me.

"Okay let's go eat."

"Great, I know a place that serves the best ramen" he says excitedly.

After walking for a little bit, we reach a small place called "Ichiraku". Sitting down next to Naruto, I see an oldman behind the counter in front of us. It seems he and Naruto know eachother.

"Hey there Naruto" the old man started.

"How ya been, and who's the pretty girl? She your girlfriend?"

I immediately feel my face get warm, while Naruto was all out blushing.

'He looks so adorable like that.'

"I knew you'd be able to do it, and she looks like a keeper" continued the oldman.

"This is (Name), and we're just friends" Naruto states.

"Well alright then, what can I get for you guys?"

"I'll take the miso pork ramen, with extra pork" says Naruto.

"And you little lady?" he asked looking at me.

"Uh, I'll just take what he's having" I say politely.

"Okay those will be right out"

While the food is getting ready, Naruto and I make small talk. That's how I find out he's six-teen like me. He also tells me about his parents and how he has the nine tails inside him. I'm surprised he's telling me all this, I would've never guessed Naruto was a jinchuriki.

By now our food comes out and it looks delicious. Naruto didn't waste any time and dug in. At the pace he's eating, I don't know how he's not choking on his ramen. I begin eating and my taste buds exploded because of the flavor. This is the best ramen I've ever had! Rapidly gulping down what was left in my bowl, I  finish a few seconds after Naruto.

"That was great! Thanks for the meal" I say.

"No problem, it's already dark we should leave. Since you have nowhere to go you can stay at my place."

"Okay" I say.

We get to Naruto's apartment, and I see the place has a few empty ramen bowls scattered here and there. Other than that the apartment is fine.

"Naruto do you mind if I use your shower?" I ask shyly.

"Uh, no go ahead" said Naruto.

"Thanks"

"You can check that drawer over there, it's filled with clothes I've out grown. Some may fit you" he tells me.

Looking through the drawer I decide on a white t-shirt and green shorts. Carrying the clothes I walk into the bathroom. Ridding myself of the old clothes I had on, I step in the shower. As the water runs down my body, I feel so relaxed. After quickly washing up, I turn off the water and get out.

I dry myself using a towel and put on the clothes I took from Naruto's drawer. Seeing myself in the mirror, I noticed the shirt fit me nicely. The shorts on the other hand, come down to my knees and are a little bit baggy.

'Oh well, it'll have to do.'

Coming out the bathroom, I see Naruto staring at me at me. He's blushing too.

"What are you looking at Naruto?" I say.

"O-oh nothing, um you can sleep on the bed, I'll take the floor" he says

"You don't have to sleep on the floor Naruto, let's just share the bed."

"You sure?"

"Yeah it's cool, there's enough room."

I climb into bed with Naruto following after me. He's wearing a t-shirt and some orange shorts.
Finally lying down with Naruto beside me, I close my eyes.

But it's different this time, because for once I actually look forward to waking up tomorrow.
