C H A P T E R 18 - (Name)

Sakura P.O.V

Lady Tsunade and I are still working to fix (Name). The hole that pierced her lung has to be taken care of. I had already healed her other injuries, while lady Tsunade continued to work on (Name's) lung. We're mid-way through the medical procedure, everything is fine and going accordingly. That is until I see her breathing has slowed down.

"Lady Tsunade what's wrong with (Name)?!" I ask

"Her vitals are dropping, we need to finish this quickly." Tsunade tells me

I nod and continue to work with her.

'How is she so calm? I can't stop shaking. (Name) please, you have to hang in there. Don't give out on me!'

No matter what I tell myself, I couldn't stop what happened next. I start to feel (Name) slip away.

"We're losing her!" Tsunade shouts

Panicking I try to apply more chakra, but it's not working.

"No no no! (NAME)!!!"

Naruto P.O.V

Hours have passed since I brought (Name) to the hospital. She's still in the same operating room.

'Is her condition that serious?!'

I can't think straight, and there's no denying the gut wrenched feeling in the pit of my stomach. My worry for (Name) only increased as the hours drag on. Deep down I can't help but feel the situation was only going to get worse. I really hope I'm wrong.

(Name), please be okay. I need you. With those thoughts still flowing through my head, I simply sit down and wait. Afterall, I think that's all I can do right now. More hours pass and somehow, I had fallen asleep...

"Naruto?"

I hear someone say. Their voice is soft and soothing.

"Naruto??"

Could it be? Yeah, it's (Name)! I turn to see her smiling at me. We're outside in a park. The sun is out and the sky is a clear blue. I take (Name) and hug her. Closing my eyes, I smile while holding her close. She's so warm. But that warmth suddenly disappears. Opening my eyes, I see (Name) is no longer in my grasp. Looking ahead I find (Name) standing in front of me. She's different, her eyes have no life in them. They're so dull, looking as if she didn't have a soul anymore.

"(Name) what's wrong?"

My question goes unanswered as she turns her back on me and walks away. Our surroundings change, there's no bright color, everything's in black and white. It's as if time had stopped. The only thing moving is (Name) as she continues to get farther away from me.

"(NAME)!" I scream

I try to run towards her but I get nowhere. I keep calling her name, but she never looks back. I can't reach her no matter how hard I try. (Name) keeps walking far into the distance, until she's out of sight.

"(NAME)!!!"

No, she's gone. I lost her, please come back.

Soon after the ground beneath me disappears. Leaving me to fall into a pit of endless darkness.

"Naruto..."

"Naruto!"

"NARUTO!!! Wake up."

Slowly opening my eyes I see Tsunade.

"Naruto, what are you still doing here?" she asks me

"Mmm... Oh! Nevermind that, how's (Name)? Is she ok?!?" I say snapping out of my sleepy state.

Granny Tsunade sighs before looking at me sadly.

"What happened?" I say once more

"When (Name) arrived here, she had numerous injuries. Some more severe than others, but this made her bleed out. She lost alot of blood. Although that wasn't the main problem."

"What do you mean?" I ask

"There was a specific kunai that got lodged in (Name's) back, piercing her right lung. Knowing this we had to fix it as soon as possible, so-"

"You did it, right? And she's ok now?"

"Naruto, let me finish. *sigh* The operation to repair her lung was luckly a success, we fixed it in time. But, because of her pierced lung (Name) wasn't able to breath properly. Meaning the lack of oxygen she received from this wasn't enough. Being this way for too long, caused slight brain damage. Because of this... (Name) is now in a coma." Tsunade finished saying

"I'm sorry Naruto"

With that Tsunade walks away, leaving me to stand in the empty hallway. I'm frozen in place by what I hear. My nightmare became reality.

'No, it can't be... (Name)'
