Chapter XIII
"Remember, when we played hide and seek together...? Back then, I wasn't able to do anything in order to save you... No one blamed me... But well... How was I supposed to look into the eyes of your parents? Or of the village? I was hated for losing you... It was my job to watch you after all." Kuroko sighed and I looked at him. "I left the village, and trained in the forest. After I felt myself strong enough I returned to your parents and swore to return you at all cost... I found out their hideout and you literally ran in my arms, but I wasn't Kuroko there anymore, I became Aki... Your personal bodyguard.... But it looks like I failed a second time to protect you... Forgive me my Princess..." Kuroko hung his head.
"Why...didn't you out yourself as Kuroko...? Why were you always so cold towards me...?" I asked.
"Because I wasn't Kuroko anymore, I didn't have the right to be called you're fiance. I fail at everything connecting to you." Kuroko tried not to clench his fists and I leaned back looking up.
"Do you think we can get out of here?" I asked.
"With that person, who's able to change her outlook it's I suppose impossible. I'm in here because of how was her name...? Shira? She was looking just like you, deceiving me, and so I revealed myself as your bodyguard. I mean, we can never know who she is right now." He sighed and I sighed too.
Silence wrapped itself around us as we've been trying to relax a bit. My arm became meanwhile in a blue purple color and even not moving started to hurt.
"May I still call you Vivi?" He asked all of sudden and smiled at me.
"Sure... We're still friends right?" I answered and tilted my head to him.
"Yes... I suppose we are... Shall we think how to get out of here?" He looked at his chains. "They're fixed badly on the wall, with some rucks I could tear them off, maybe this might open the wall here? Hm... But what after that? And what if you get injured by the wall?" Kuroko thought but it was more than clear that my safety was of nonimportance now to anyone, neither he nor me were seriously thinking about my safety.
"Simply do..." I answered and he nodded at me, as if he's been waiting for me to say it.
"On three... One... two... three...!" And with two to three rucks the wall broke down and Kuroko was free. Various voices were heard asking what's wrong or what that bang was
"Princess, we should lure them to our village and then strike back!" Kuroko easily freed me and scooped me up in his hands. "And now simply hold onto me, Vivi..." With such a sweet whisper, I closed my eyes and trusted Kuroko completely...
