Chapter V

"As the only child of the leader of a clan... I was always alone... Training was tough... And all the other children disliked me... Every adult was praising me and their children were jealous... I always cried... And one day, a young boy came to me... And he didn't care about what the adults said or thought about me. He just played with me." I whispered and he asked me.

"But, this isn't related to your situation which is now, is it?" He started to stroke my hair.

"I got bullied by the other children back then... I don't think it will be different... He's not here, so he won't protect and so I won't feel myself safe at all..." I looked away from him and he continued to stroke my hair.

"I will do my best to protect you." He said with determination and left to the kitchen.

I watched him return with a glass of milk and he handed it to me.

"Drink... It's just milk... And then you can go to sleep... Ok?" He handed me the glass and I took it. It felt warm... Did he warm it up for me...? I started to drink it and he stood next to me, observing me.

"Y-ya know... it feels strange if you watch me..." I said and turned my back to him.

"I see." He answered and once I finished he easily took the glass away from me, and left the room.

"Good night..." I yawned and covered myself with my blanket again, giving in to my tiredness.

In the middle of the night I felt something cold surrounding me, I looked around and saw Kuruko, chained on a chair.

"K-Kuruko...!" I tried to scream his name with everything I got, but not a single sound escaped my mouth. I struggled, but spiked chains all around my body kept me away from moving.

"Kuruko...! Get away from here...!" I tried to say but still, no sound escaped my lips. I looked around and saw the scarred face of the man, who kept me worse than a slave.

"Kuruko! Run! Get a safe place!" I struggled more and saw the man approach Kuruko.

"Lady Virginia! Wake up!" Aki woke me up and I gasped loudly, being out of breath.

"A-Aki...! T-there was Kuruko...! And...the man...who kidnapped me...! And...spiked chains... And nobody was able to hear me...! And I tried to warn him... But....!" Before I could say anything further I hugged him tightly and clawed my fingers into his shirt.

"It was just a nightmare... Don't worry..." He stroked my hair gently and I couldn't help but to nod. It really was just a nightmare... But it felt real... way too real... Slowly... Nearly painfully slow, my breathing started to calm down and I loosened my grip on his shirt.

"I'm sorry..." I said ashamed of myself and let go of his shirt.

"Don't worry. It's comprehensible after all. No one can understand what you had to go through at those monsters. So feel free to tell me everything, I won't tell your parents anything about it." Aki kissed my hair gently and I nodded again.

"Aki. You should go to bed again... You shouldn't stay awake because of me..." I whispered again and he shook his head.

"I won't go until I didn't make sure you sleep tight again and that no nightmares will hunt you anymore" Aki said and I yawned.

"But... later we will have to go to school..." I covered myself with the blanket completely and laid down again.

"I'm gonna make it easily. Coffee is tasty by the way." He giggled and so did I.

"Hehe... Guess you're right... Good night and wake me up in time ok?" I closed my eyes and he stroked my hair gently.

"Sure milady... I will..." Was the last thing I heard, before my mind drifted off to sleep.

"Milady... Wake up..." After a time, which felt like 5 minutes, Aki started to wake me and I stood reluctantly up.

"Why did you let me sleep at all? Because of 5 minutes..." I climbed down and walked to the bath.

"Those "5" minutes were actually 3 hours" Aki said as I locked the bath and combed my hair.

"too less to go to bed anyway. Useless." I answered after I finished brushing my teeth and took my school uniform on. "This looks awful!" I said and walked shyly out.

"Wh-!" Aki looked at me and his jaw dropped. "It... err..." Aki stuttered and I looked at him, waiting for his answer and he finished his sentence with...
