OMG I FORGOT THE PROLOGUE! IM SO SORRY D: (There'll be a long epilogue then ;D)
Feather watched as the three, three moon old kits scrambled around playfully, getting under everyone's paws.
"They'll be a To-Be in five moons," Lion purred next to her. Him and Feather had become closer in the past three moons, but the prophecy still troubled her. It's been three moons, and nothing's happened. No dreams, no signs... Maybe I should ask Stoneteller if she's had any dreams lately.
Focusing her attention back to Lion, he looked back, his dark, blazing, amber eyes looking into her's. "Do you want to see your younger brother and sister?"
Lion nodded. "Sure."
The two cats padded into the Nursery Cave to see Pond and Sparrow play-fighting at the entrance. Looking around the rushing waterfall to see outside, Feather could see Cloud and Rain, the new, full cave guard and prey hunter. They were no longer To-Be's, and Leaf's tail intertwined with Rain's. The three cats were following Pine and Moon up the trail to the cave, coming back from a successful hunting patrol.
"Lion!" Sparrow squeaked.
"Feather!" Pond added as the two kits ran up to them.
Their mother, Flower, followed. "What brings you two here?" She asked.
"Oh, Lion and I wanted to see the-" Feather looked at both Pond and Sparrow. "The almost full grown, kits!"
Lion nodded his head in agreement. "They did get so big!" He purred, playing along with Feather's statement, to surprise the kits.
Feather watched in amusement as Pond puffed out her chest, copied by Sparrow.
"Now they look like full To-Be's!" Lion meowed, licking the top of Sparrow's head.
Looking around the nursery cave, Feather saw Sky heavy with kits. Padding over to her and Frost with Lion, they sat down. "So when are they coming?" Feather asked as Flower sat next to her.
"In about two moons." Sky purred. "There's definitely more than two, by the feeling of it!"
"That's great!" Feather mewed. "We'll have new cats to help the clan thrive as senior warriors retire."
Frost nodded agreement. "But what about you?" She asked Feather. "Will we have even more soon?"
Feather tilted her head in thought. I never thought about that... "Maybe." She purred. "Not quite yet though."
Padding out of the cave, Lion looked at Feather.
"What?" She asked.
"I-I never thought about having kits with you." He murmured.
Feather nodded. "Me neither, but do you want to?" She asked.
"Of course!" Lion purred as they walked to the front of the cave of rushing water. "They'd look so cute."
"Well you would be their father, so definitely." Looking down the trail that led from the cave to the bottom of the waterfall, Feather looked at Lion. "Do you want to go hunting?" She asked.
Lion nodded. "Sure."
As the two cats walked down the trail, Feather felt the hot sun warm her pelt. "It's so nice to have the Time of Freed Water pass. I always loved the warm sun, but I still miss the Time of Frozen Water, where the snow covers everything."
