Just as the WindClan cats set foot on the cold, moist ground, a huge waft of fish-scent filled Feathercloud's sense of smell. Resisting the urge to wrinkle her nose in disgust, a black flash caught the small she-cat's attention.
Fawnstar halted, lifting her head as a black tom appeared from around a fern bush, followed by four other cats.
"Welcome." The tom meowed, pushing past the WindClan cats, and facing Feathercloud, Hawkclaw, and Ravenpaw.
"Are these the tribe cats?" A young white she-cat from the back asked. "Feather, Hawk, and... um, Raven?"
The black tom looked back, his blue eyes steady. "Yes, Tallfrost."
"Actually," Feathercloud mewed. "We have warrior names now." She mewed.
"Oh?" Reedclaw meowed.
Hawkclaw nodded. "Feather is now Feathercloud, I'm Hawkclaw, and Raven, training as an apprentice now, is Ravenpaw."
"...So you're WindClan cats now?" Tallfrost meowed.
Feathercloud slowly nodded. "Yes... well, sort of. But we have no rivalry with any other clans. We just got our names to show respect."
"And that's fine." Reedclaw meowed, glancing back at the white she-cat. He turned to the Fawnstar and the other WindClan cats. "You may leave now."
The lean brown she-cat dipped her head. "Of course." She mewed before leading her warriors back onto the moor, leaving Feathercloud, Hawkclaw, and Ravenpaw to the RiverClan cats.
"Well," the black tom glanced at the four warriors behind him. "I'm Reedclaw, RiverClan's deputy." He meowed. "Good timing." He gestured for the white she-cat to come forward. "This is Tallfrost, as you may know."
The white she-cat purred, remembering meeting Feathercloud and Hawkclaw at the gathering. "Hello."
Reedclaw glanced behind him once more, and a brown tabby tom padded up. "I'm Mousestripe."
Feathercloud studied the two cats that remained behind. A tom and a she-cat. The tom was a white and brown, his structure similar to Mousestripe's. The she-cat was a gray tabby. She reminded Feathercloud of the silver cat she had encountered on her journey to the clan territory. Shaking the memories away, Feathercloud watched as the white and brown tom introduced himself as Oakpatch.
Finally, the gray tabby took a step forward. "I'm Flowerheart."
Tallfrost spoke up. "She's Silverwing's sister."
Feathercloud remembered the silver and white patched she-cat from the gathering, being introduced to her right after Tallfrost. "Greetings." She mewed, dipping her head to the RiverClan cats, then fixing her gaze on Flowerheart. "I'm looking forward to seeing Silverwing back at the camp."
"Then lets set off." Reedclaw meowed, before leading the tribe cats deeper into RiverClan territory.
Ravenpaw pressed close to Feathercloud and Hawkclaw as they padded along. "But I'm not a tribe cat." He mewed quietly.
Feathercloud bent down and ran here tongue along the black tabby tom-cat's head. "Yes you are." She murmured. "The Tribe of Rushing Water will welcome you. Remember, they welcomed Hawkclaw, he was just called Hawk back then too."
Ravenpaw slowly nodded.
Tallfrost sped her pace up a bit, to be level with Feathercloud. "So Feathercloud, Hawkclaw, and Ravenpaw." She mewed. "What are your full tribe names?"
The small tabby she-cat glanced at her mate, and the black tom.
Hawkclaw nodded.
Feathercloud looked at Tallfrost. "Well, I used to be Feather that Drifts in the Wind." She looked at Hawkclaw and Ravenpaw. "Hawkclaw and Ravenpaw never got a tribe name." She glanced at Tallfrost. "But I think they'll get one if we go back to the mountains."
