Feather flinched as a loud, harsh, call sounded.

The two dogs whimpered, turned around, and ran back to the field.

Thank Stoneteller!

Waiting until the dogs were far from sight, Feather jumped down from the tree, and began to check for Hawk's scent.

"Hawk?" Feather called as she padded forward a couple of tail lengths.

A faint scent caught the she-cat's attention, and she found herself being led towards a big dip in land.

"Hawk?" Feather called once more.

A rustling noise came from a pine tree near her, and the she-cat looked up to see the big, gleaming, blue eyes of her mate.

"There you are!" Feather called as she watched Hawk slide down the tree.

The tom touched noses with Feather, but looked back up at the tree.

Feather followed his gaze, and found a pair of bright amber eyes peering through the branched high above.

"You can come down." Hawk meowed.

Feather soon saw a young black tabby tom jump down from the tree, and land beside her.

"H-Hi." He stammered.

Swishing her tail, Feather tilted her head at the young, small tom. "Who's this?" She asked Hawk.

"This," Hawk rested his tail on the young tom's shoulder. "This is Raven."

Feather nodded. "Hello, Raven."

Hawk looked at the tom. "He partly saved me from the dogs. I had no where to go when I couldn't find a tree that would hold my weight."

Raven shrunk down as Hawk praised him as he told the story.

"Then this young tom led me to a group of pine trees, in a dip where the dog's wouldn't see me." He meowed.

Feather dipped her head. "So you know Hawk?" She asked.

Raven shook his head. "No. But he was in trouble, so I needed to help."

"That's so nice of you!" Feather purred.

The tom shrugged. "Well I was saved once by someone, and I'll never forget the way she risked her life for me."

"What do you mean?" Hawk asked, sitting down.

Raven copied, followed by Feather. "A badger had attacked me a while back, when I was asleep in my nest." The black tabby tom touched his nose to a long pink scar the ran down his hind leg. "She told me to get away from there while she distracted the badger."

"Oh no..." Feather murmured.

"I waited until the next day to come back, and I found her in a pool of blood by my nest." Raven dropped his head. "I should've stayed and helped her fight it off, but I think she knew that we both would've ended up like the way she did."

Feather rested her tail on Raven's back. "That's so sad..."

Raven nodded. "Her name was Birchie. And I'll never forget that."

"That's good." Hawk meowed. "We should be heading on though."

"Where are you going?" Raven asked.

Feather pricked her ears. "We're going to the clans. Would you like to come with us?"

"The clans?" Raven asked.

"Feather..." Hawk warned.

She ignored the large tom. "Yes. It's four groups of wild cats that hunt and fight for a living. ShadowClan, River...RiverClan, WindClan, where we're going, and I think the last one is ThunderClan."
