It was the day after the attack, and Feather had just come back from burying the tribe cats' bodies. The sun was just beginning to rise when the cats left, and it was now fully visible, but not even close to sunhigh yet. The tribe bustled with activity, two groups of cats either cleaned up dried blood off of the floor, or were waiting with serious injuries for Stoneteller to heal.
"You should go see Stoneteller."
A whisper from behind startled Feather, and she found Hawk padding up. "Uh-Why?" She meowed as she turned around to greet the large tom.
"To treat your wounds." Hawk meowed. "Well, actually to talk to her about... you know..."
Feather nodded. "Yea..."
"You should actually get that deep gash on the back of your neck too though." Hawk murmured as he nosed through her pelt.
"Will you come with me then?" She mewed.
Hawk sat back on his haunches. "Of course. Come on." He meowed as he led the small she-cat to the group of battered cats. Leaf, Pine, Oak, Cloud, Jay, Flower, Moon, and Sky were the cats waiting for Stoneteller.
"Hello, Feather!" Leaf called from licking his wounds. "You're here for that gash on your shoulder, huh."
Feather glanced at Hawk. "For Hawk's scratches too."
Leaf nodded. "Well I guess you can join us in the wait."
"I don't want you to move a single bit."
Feather looked to see Stoneteller leading Blaze into the Cave of Rushing Water.
"Yea, yea." Blaze muttered. "It's not like I wont be doing that in a few moons."
"Oh stop it." Stoneteller meowed as she stopped in front of the two groups. "You're my littermate, and I'm still running back and fourth all day long like a kit."
Watching Blaze limp to his nest, next to where Mountain's would be. The two lead Prey-Hunters... And we lost one.
Shaking the thought out of her head, she turned to Stoneteller, who was scanning the cats.
"Feather?" The cream she-cat meowed. "You need that deep gash checked. Follow me."
"O-Oh, Hawk too." Feather meowed. "We need to talk to you about something."
Stoneteller glanced back. "Fine."
Feather looked at Hawk, and the two cats followed Stoneteller into her cave.
Winding tunnel walls touched the flanks of her pelt, and they finally made it into the cool, damp, air of the Cave of Pointed Stones.
"Feather, sit here." Stoneteller instructed the she-cat as she pointed her tail to a large section of moss that covered the floor, near her herb store. "You can too, Hawk."
Feather padded over to the soft moss bedding, and rested her tail over her paws, as Stoneteller grabbed a wad of moss from a small dip in the wall. "So I wanted to talk to you about the prophecy."
"I figured." The cream she-cat padded over to Feather.
"Do you think that was what the prophecy was trying to warn us about?" Feather mewed.
Stoneteller shook her head as she chewed up a small leaf. "That wouldn't make sense." She mumbled as she spread the poultice across Feather's wound. "Hawk only warned us about it. There has to be more, especially if the Clans entered your dreams.
"Right." Feather breathed as the stinging eased when Stoneteller wrapped the cobweb across the poultice to keep it from moving.
"That's true." Hawk mumbled. "I didn't mention something before, that I think I should now."
