Chapter 13

I glanced at the clock and could see that it was barely one o'clock in the morning and I can't sleep. I replayed what had happened yesterday and the Friday night before. I screwed up the date and it only lead to embarrassment. Then yesterday Drew was cool about it and I completely forgot about it. There was no awkwardness. What the heck is happening? Is he trying to cover something that was hurting him? I don't know, but he never tells his past.

My thoughts were interrupted by loud music down the hall. My parents weren't going to be back until tonight. So Rick can do whatever he wanted. I got up and the cold air hit me. I can't believe we're running next Friday in this cold! Anyway I walked down the hall to Ricks' room and knocked on the door. He shouted something that I couldn't hear.

Gabe walked down the hall to me and shouted over the music, "Why did he ever get a stereo?" He continued walking 'till he got the stairs and walked down. I shook my head and smiled. I knocked again and this time he answered. I walked in and turned off the stereo and walked out.

I turned back around and said, "why?"

He shrugged and stated, "are you really forgetting the prank war?"

"No I didn't forget. I just have been really busy. While you are just lazing around." My cousin was still stupid all he cared about was his pranks. Then I remembered something, "still have a crush on Emily?"

He froze and narrowed his eyes at me and slammed the door in anger. I'm going to take that as a yes. I headed back to my room and went back to sleep. I smirked then I realized that I have school today. I laid back down and fell back to sleep.

I ran into school and had five minutes tell homeroom. I got to my locker to see that Drew was there. I slowed down and slowly approached him. I stood right in front of him and asked, "what are you hiding?" I looked up at him and his smiling face turned sad and confused.

"What are you talking about?" He asked me, not looking into my eyes.

"Why did you move here and keep so much to your self?" I searched his eyes waiting to get an answer.

He hesitated and scratch the back of his neck, "we moved because my dad was hitting my mom and me and we decided to move away from him." he paused and took a deep breath. "I left when I was younger because my mom had no choice but to go with my dad."

I swayed from side to side and tried to think up something to say and I came up with nothing. The bell rang but I just stayed there waiting for something to happen. All the other students just rushed past, I didn't even notice all of them. I looked up again and had a huge surprise.

He kissed me.

The kiss lasted a few seconds, but it caught me off guard. He pulled away and was about to walk away when I stopped him. He turned around I wrapped my arms around his neck and pulled him closer to me. We where the only ones in the hallway. Which just made it perfect. He leaned in and his lips met mine. It was a caring kiss that said that he liked me and didn't care who was watching.

He placed his hands on my hips and gently pushed me against the lockers. I pulled back and laid my forehead on his forehead. I smiled, "where does this put us? Our first date went wrong."

"I know, who cares. Also this puts us boyfriend and girlfriend?" He asked with a smirk.

I smiled and nodded. He set me down and nodded down the hallway meaning we should go to class. I waved at him and headed to class. I can't believe I had a boyfriend and I had my first and second kiss. This day was getting better by the minute. I giggle and ran to my homeroom.

Lunch came around and I noticed that Felicia and Logan were together again. I also saw that Rick was seating next to Emily with his arm around her shoulder. Coco came in with Nic from the football team. I choked on my spit quietly, no one heard though..

My friends did find someone to love and the person was either far away or near them at school this whole time. They trust the one they love, if they lose this person they love then they would be so heartbroken. I took a deep breath and went over to my friends.

"Hey guys, what's up?" I slid into the seat next to Felicia and smiled in Logan's direction over Felicia's head. He mouthed the word 'thanks' and went back to talking to Felicia.

Drew slid into the seat next to mine and wrapped his arm around my waist, "are you going to come to my last football game before the state?"

I smiled and said, "you can count on it."

Then I went back to eating the yummy lunch food. Not!
