Once again, I was here.

Instead of lying completely helpless on my back as I prayed silently that I would be able to see again, I woke up to be standing firmly on my own two feet. One bare foot was firmly planted flat on the hard, cool ground while the other tilted sideways from my standing position. It was as if I were hiding or covering myself from something since my arms were wrapped around my torso tightly, keeping me from harm.
That's when I remembered:

My other dream.

I was in my dream again. Every time I would fall asleep after something awful happened, I would wake up to find myself in a different world such as this one. As it turned out, each one would continue after I woke up; but the significance of them was what I wanted to know the most. They had to mean something, right? They could be the answer to everything.

They were.

Breathing in again, I felt myself slowly release the firm grip I held on myself. I also remembered that it was a train that flew right through me, making me believe that I was a spirit myself. I wasn't though; I was fully human just searching for answers in this strange realm. I do also wonder where that strange woman went that was dressed in white. I wonder who she was and maybe if I saw her again, I could get a closer look at what she looked like. Not just her flowing gown nor her angelic, pale features but her unique features. The color of her hair. Her eyes. The way her cheeks rose when she smiled. The way her eyebrows rose in fear.

I was going to find her—this woman. This woman filled with mystery.

Heading towards an unknown destination, my eyes kept its focus on the path in front of me. The railroad tracks beneath my feet suddenly quit just as another path of gravel welcomed me instead.

Where was it taking me?

At least I wasn't hearing the annoying, pestering voices and whispers that literally drove me insane. I wasn't sure how much I could take their control over me, but nonetheless, all I heard was silence as I groped around, searching for the mysterious woman. The air was chilly, causing goosebumps and chills to crawl on my skin. The air around me also was breezy and the smell of something damp and metallic seemed apparent. I could almost taste it in my own saliva, but I did my best to ignore it and continue ushering forward.

Soon after, I found myself at the end of my journey.

A dead end.

So this was where I was led? A dead end?

Sounds like a trap to me.

It wasn't a trap, but not that I knew. It was a meeting place. A meeting place among me, the mysterious woman, and someone else. They just haven't shown up yet.

Pondering whether to turn right back around and head the other direction, a beam of light from the dead end of the tunnel caught my attention.

It was her, and she was headed straight towards me.

***

I woke with a start, shrieking and scuttling in an instant to the back of the bed where I was sleeping.

I couldn't remember where I was or what had happened. My mind was just blank.

Closing my eyes, I thought hard. I had a dream, yes? Yes. Yes, I did. Wait, what about before that? Oh. That was when Mary came. Right? And she gave us a message? Right. What did it say again? Closer. Closer to what exactly? Was this entire situation coming to a close soon? Or was it that Mary was getting closer to getting what she wanted? Redemption? Her redemption would likely be my death since I presumably put her through something terrible. I didn't though, at least not to my knowledge that I remember. I just couldn't quite put my finger on it.
