Jarred POV

We made our way down stairs but Rayne was lagging and looked strained.

" what's wrong with you?" I asked.

" I think someone saw us." She whispered.

" What do you mean someone saw us?!" I whisper yelled.

" I saw clothing slide across a corner in the hall."

" Did you see a face?"

" No. I didn't. What would happen if they found out?" She asked, eyes full of worry.

" They won't. Come on, we'll figure it out later."

She nodded and followed me to the dinner table where my dad, Jason, Eve, and head warriors and their mates sat.

Mom came in behind us and sat down next to dad.

" What took you two so long?" Dad asked.

" Rayne was taking a while in the bathroom."

" Yeah, sorry." She smiled.

" Sit." Dad sighed.

We both sat down, brutally far from each other. She sat in my fathers end, across the table from my mom and I sat at the other end of the table.

We began eating quietly until Rayne shattered the silence. I know her and she hates the silence. It seems to bother her.

" So I start tomorrow?!" She asked, enthusiastically.

I saw everyone jolt slightly at her sudden outburst.

" You start first thing in the morning. You'll be up before the sun." Alpha Hudson said.

Rayne looked towards my mom.

" What do I call you?" She asked, politely.

" Luna Katrina." Mom says, smiling slightly.

I know my mom has no problem with Rayne here but with Dad, it's a different story. But dad is slowly going to his normal self.

Mom got up after just about everyone was done with dinner and grabbed a couple of their plates. Rayne got up and helped.

" Oh hon, you don't need to do that." Mom says.

" It's fine, I don't mind helping." Rayne smiled.

" Thanks so much." Mom sighed as they both disappeared into the kitchen.

Dad looks at me and his eyes looks like he knows something.

Oh great.

Everyone had already left so I went to my room getting ready for bed.

Right when I was about to turn off my light, I heard a knock at me door.

" Come in." I sighed.

The door creaked open to reveal my dad.

" Hey dad, what's up?" I asked, sitting on my bed.

He came over to me and leaned into my neck.

" Dad? What're you doing?"

He took a big whiff that sent shivers up my spine and I moved away.

" There's that smell again. That sugared strawberries smell." He said, frowning.

Crap!!

" It's seems to be lingering around here, better tell Katrina." Dad sighed.

" Is mom still washing dishes?" I asked.
