Rayne POV

" Why? Why choose? I don't want to hurt anyone."

" Well, we already know who you want to be with. It's just how you have to tell the other person, you don't want to be with them." Eve said.

" No, that's not it. I want to be with both of them. It's just I want to spend more time with Jarred since I've been with Emily all my life." I said.

" So you've chosen." Jason said.

" No, when you guess say choose, you make it sound so final. Like I'll never see the other person again."

" You won't. That's the point. If another accident like yesterday happens again, who knows if we'll get lucky the next time." Eve said.

Jarred was simply eating his cereal, but I could see, Jarred was in deep thoughts.

Choose mate! My wolf yelled.

Don't you ever give up, it's not that easy! I yelled back.

I want mate! She yelled.

As do I but what about Emily?! I asked her.

Mate! Mate! Mate! Mate! She chanted.

Some help you are. I grumbled at her.

I really do want Jarred but Emily and I are the best of friends and I don't want anything to come between us. What if we grow apart? What would happen to us? Who would I go shopping with? Who would I get my fur blown out with? Who would o get my claws done with?!

" Rayne!"

" What?!" I yelled.

Everyone was taken aback by my sudden outburst. They all looked genuinely terrified for a second.

" It's time to take your pain killers, for your nose." Jarred said, cautiously.

" O-oh. Uhh, right, yeah."

Jarred POV

What is wrong with Rayne? I know it's tough for her to choose but goodness. I wasn't expecting her to explode like that. Maybe I should talk to her, calm her down a bit.

Rayne took her pills and didn't even touch her cereal.

" Everything okay?" I asked.

" No. Everything is not okay." She snapped.

" Wait! I've got an idea!" Jason yelled.

Rayne jolted from the sudden outburst and I simply looked at Jason.

" Well, come on now, out with it."

" Why can't Rayne be here some of the time and there some of the time?" Jason said.

" That's perfect!!" Eve said.

" Just one problem..." I said.

" Problem? It seems like it'll work." Eve said.

" No, Jarred's right. There is a problem." Rayne chimed in.

" The problem is what exactly?" Jason asked.
