Jarred POV
What could possibly have been troubling Rayne so much that she was silent all through dinner.
It came as a shock to everyone. I don't know why it was shocking to them because Rayne's had dinner with them once.
Sure, it was a shock to me because I know she hated the quiet, but everyone else is a mystery to me.
Oh, don't forget about mom and dad. What was their problem?
First mom was talking about how she wished things could be different and somethings she could do over, but I thought that was just her speaking wisely like she always does. But when dad gave her a look, telling her something with his eyes when he smelled something, they both scurried away.
I can't help but wonder what was going on with everyone. Rayne's deep thoughts and dazed look at dinner and mom and dad leaving quickly before dinner was over.
Something was definitely up.
At this very moment, I was laying in bed, starring at the ceiling, deep in my own thoughts.
It was the middle of the night so I knew no one would bother me at this time, but oh, was I wrong.
My door creaks open and and shuts quietly.
" Jarred?"
I quickly sat up. Rayne starred at me from the door. She's come to tell me what the deal was. Probably something about telling everyone we were mates.
" Yeah? What's the matter?" I asked.
" Uh, we need to talk, again." She said, making her way to my bed.
" About telling that we were mates?" I asked.
She hesitated.
She hesitated?! Did I get it wrong? Is something worse?
" Y-yeah. We should. I hate sneaking around like this," She said, smiling warily.
Warily smiling? Hesitations? Deep thoughts? Not interrupting the quiet?
Something is fishy around here.
" What's wrong? And tell the truth."
" I don't like sneaking around." She said,
" Sneaking around is like your favorite thing to do." I frowned.
" Well not something like this. I want to be able to show you love anytime without worrying about if someone is going to come in and catch us."
" That would be nice but you know the risk."
She sighed and stood up.
" Good night." She said.
" Rayne..."
" I'll see you in the morning."
With that she left without another word.
Did I say something wrong?

" Rise and shine, Jarred!" Dad called, stripping the covers away from me.
I groaned in response.
Is it seriously morning already?
" Jarred?"
" Hm?" I groaned, still half asleep.
" Do you have like some kind of perfume labeled; 'sugared fruits'?!" He asked.
