Walking out of the small makeup boutique I worked at I made my way over to the small coffee shop around the corner. I work closer to the downtown area of my city which was making the streets a little bit busy. I usually like work longer hours due to the amount of people out at that time drops a lot but today that wasn't the case.

It was the middle of fall and the brisk cold weather prick against my skin which was one of my favorite things. The streets were lines with trees, which I hated in the summer because they were filled with bug but now they were filled with beautiful colors and I watched all the leaves fall to the ground around me.

The coffee shop wasn't far from my work or my apartment for that matter but I wish it was so I had more time to take in the beauty of the season. Any other time of year I couldn't get inside faster enough, but this was just perfect. I was taking my time.

The coffee shop was quiet and that was why I preferred it over a big chain store like Starbucks. I enjoy the silents after dealing with older women yelling at me and younger girls acting like the knew everything even when my makeup skills where well far above theirs. Also don't even get my started on how I feel towards my co worker. I swear the issues I had with all them was from my appearance because I knew none of my coworkers got such horrible treatment. It's whatever though I'm just getting use to it.

Waiting in the short line I heard the bell on the door go beofre I felt the cool chill gust across my skin as the door closed behind the person who entered. I heard heavy footstep coming to a stop behind me and I could smell a slight musk from the cologne they must of been wearing. I was intrigued so I took a subtle glance over my shoulder and I notctied the man had long, black hair and pale skin and he was dressed in a button up shirt and a leather jacket. His eyes at the moment were focused on the menu above the counter and I could see the were crystal blue and they definitely pulled you into them.

I noticed his attention being pulled from the sign and I quickly looked away. He was cute and all but after the day I just had I would rather not strike up a conversation with an attractive human.

Walking up to the counter and I placed my order. I went to go and pull my money out of my pocket to pay for my drink but it seemed to be pointless. I watched a tattooed covered hand come in front of me and place the money on the counter. Turning to look behind me a I noticed the blue eyes man was the one paying.

"And your names for the cup?" The barista asked me.

"Um Devin." I said slow as my brain try to process it all.

With a raised eyebrow I turned back around and walked over to the other corner of the store waiting for my order.

"A thank you would be nice." I heard the man say as he walk up next to me.

"Well I didn't ask you to pay for me. So, I don't think I should have to say thank you." I I said not taking my eyes off my phone.

"Well anyways you welcome." He said placing his hand on my arm and I put my phone down.

"What do you want?" I ask him, irritated.

"Well your number would be a good place to start or " He lent forward so his mouth was by my ear. "you on all fours moaning my name." He said with a smirk.

"Well too bad for you I'm not that easy." I said harshly.

"That's a good thing that I like a challenge then." He said with a smirk.

I watch my drink be placed on the counter and I turned away from him and grab it before turning to walk out of the shop. I gave him one last smirk before the door shut behind me. At least I got a free drink out of that. He was delusional if he thought that was going to go his way.

_________

Opening up the door to my apartment I was greeted at the door by my cat. Shutting the door behind me I bent down and scratch behind his ear and he let out a small meow and all the stress from my day melted away. I don't know if it's sad that the only person in my life that makes me truly happy is my cat but it's true. If I had a bad day he always makes me feel better.

"How is my baby?" I ask him as he purred. With a smile I got up and walk into the kitchen and he followed behind meowing at me as we went. Bending down I poured him some food before going to start on my own dinner.

Waiting for everything to cook I start to scroll through Instagram on my phone. I noticed a notification go off and I saw that someone had messaged me. Raising my eyebrow at the screen I went to go look at it and low and behold it was coffee shop guy. Ricky. Now he has a name.

"You definitely know how to take god photos but I would say you're ten times more attractive in person baby." He wrote. I couldn't help but smirk at my phone. It was kind of sweet in a creepy, cheesy sort of way.

"How did you get my name?" I ask him. I had never gave it to him and I don't think anyone had refereed to me by it in the coffee shop.

"I have my ways. Plus I saw it well you were on your phone and you did also say your name to the barista." Okay that isn't as creepy as I thought.

"What do you want?" I ask him.

"Well I never got my thank you." he said and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

"Thank you. You can leave me alone now." I quickly typed back to him. Why does this guy have to be so determined?

"I'll think about that beautiful." Was the last thing h said to me and I smirk as I red the words in my mind.

I have a feeling this man is going to make my life more interesting then it's even been before and I'm looking forward to it.

I'm was enjoying the attention he's giving me anyways so of course I want it to continue and any other day I would be all over him. He was attractive and from what I could see just my type. Something about today was just putting me off. Working was affecting my health and I hated it but I sadly need to work to survive.

Sitting down on my couch in the living room with a bowl a pasta and my cat curled up on my lap I stared out the window and thought about what brought me here. I used to be so happy with my job. I loved it and getting up for work was the best way to start my day. That changed a few months back and it was like I was bored with my life. I need more adventure and maybe mystery guy could bring that possible.
