Sitting around in the kitchen at my apartment for the first time in a little while I kicked my feet as I sat on the counter watching Ricky make the two of us dinner. He ha been spending the last few days here since we had the same days off and I had been at his place for a while. He went out of his way to drive me in every day and he picked me up. As much as I love his place it was nice to be home.

The TV was on in the background and we had turned it on coming through the door but that wasn't anything new. I personally liked the background it created I don't know why he always left it on but I'm guessing it's for similar reasons. I hated when it was too quiet, I just felt calmer when we where quiet and it was on.

It has been about a week since we killed the girl attached to the red headed girl. I can't remember either of their names for the life of me but I don't think it really matters now if I'm being honest. No one has said a word about them yet on the news and no one I think has even noticed the blonde was missing yet. I know none of the people at my work had spoken about it and a lot of them seemed closer to her. I'm guessing they weren't as close as I thought they were then.

There was a knock at the door that ruined the silence that filled the apartment and Ricky turned to look at me with a surprised expression. "Who is that?" He ask and I shrugged and jumped down to the floor to get the door. That wasn't even lying to him I really didn't know who that could be. If it wasn't already obvious no one but him came around without calling first and even then that didn't happened a lot.

I pulled the door open and the cat rushed over to the person, rubbing against his leg in excitement to see him. "Vinny what are you doing here?" I ask him as he bent down to picked him up. That cat really seemed to like him which was a shocking because when I got him he wasn't even close to being a people loving cat.

"I thought I would just check up on you. I haven't seen you around recently and the last time we talked you seemed kind of out of it." He said to me as I step aside to let him in. Vinny placed his shoes next to where Ricky and I's where. I guess he wasn't leaving anytime soon. From the way he seems to be making himself at home is making me feel like I have let him take care of this place way too much, he was seeming to be thinking of it as his own. It's not surprising to me he doesn't appear to be someone who understands that some people aren't that fond of other people in there space.

"Hey baby who's this?" Ricky ask as he walked into the front room, drying his hands off with a towel as he walked. He placed it on the counter before sticking his hand out in Vinny direction. "I'm Ricky, Devin's boyfriend." He said to him before I could even answer the question he had ask me. I guess he did the work for me, not like I'm complaining I hated introducing people.

"Vinny, I live down the hall. I usually take care of this little guy when Devin's away." He said grasping Ricky hand before going back to petting the cat.

The room fell silent as Vinny start to look into the kitchen possible taking notice to the smell of food that filled the apartment. "Do you want to stay for dinner?" I ask him, knowingly. I knew for a fact that he isn't much of a cook so he rarely has home cooked meals.

"If the two of you wouldn't mind then sure." He said walking into the kitchen without even waiting for our response. I guess it doesn't matter if we minded or not. I know I don't but it is Ricky making the food.

I turned to look at Ricky and he seemed calm so I didn't think he would care. "You don't mind right? He does a lot for me this is probably the right thing to do." I told him.

"I don't mind but you might want to warn him to get away from the food with the cat before I yell at him. I love that cat and all but I just don't want tons of fur in my food." He told me as he looked around me to see into the kitchen.

I jumped and moved fast as I went into the kitchen. I walked up to Vinny, taking the cat out of his arms as he tasted the food that was cooking on the stove. It was some tomato looking sauce that Ricky was working at, I really didn't pay much attention to what he was cooking for us to know what that was for.

"Hey!" He exclaimed turning to look at me.

I rolled my eyes and handed the cat back to him well I shoved him toward the living room. "I would rather not have more cat fur in my food then there will already be from him just being around." Vinny laughed when I said the but took the hint and made his way to the living room. Ricky came back shortly and started coking again and I took my spot sitting on the counter top but this time I turned myself a bit so I was facing into the living room.

__________

Dinner had gone well and Ricky and Vinny seemed to get along quite well. It almost was like they had known each other prior to this from how they talked.

It was kind of weird having him around for this long. Usually we just talk for a little bit when he's leaving my place or if I see him in the halls on my way out. It's never been this long or this personal before. He was easy to get along with so I wasn't annoyed with how long he even stayed after.

It was starting to get late now and he was saying he had work early in the morning. It was strange knowing he had a job. He just didn't seem to be the working type of person but I guess it made sense he did have to work since I knew he lived alone. It wasn't shocking though when he told us that he had lost a few jobs recently. Keeping work seemed to be more the problem then getting them. He was a people person and just seemed to have good work qualities to him on the outside.

I walked him to the door well Ricky started cleaning up the mess for me. He always did that though no matter where we were. He just liked to take care of me.

Vinny slipped his shoes back on and when he went to open the door he paused for a moment. He turned around and I knew he had something to say that was a bit difficult for him to form the words to. He seem so serious and it was different seeing him like this. It was a rare occasion where something bother him enough to get him like this.

He open his mouth but at first no words came out and I could tell he was second guessing himself. If this was anyone else I would of turned away and lost interest a while ago but I was intrigued which was making me give him his time. This better be good that's all I have to say right now about it.

"Are you doing okay now? I just remember you being really upset that one night a few weeks back and I'm guessing he had something to do with it and after that you just seemed different." He finally said and he was taking his time to make sure he didn't offend me. I couldn't get upset at him though because I got where he was coming from, I was really out of it that one night and I probably sounded a bit crazy to him.

"Ya I'm fine we just had a difference in opinions on a few things but we've worked through that now and I understand where he's coming from. Thanks for being there for me it helped me a lot." I told him with a smile. It wasn't a lie, I was leaving out a few details but for good reason.

He looked in the direction Ricky was and he seemed to be thinking something that anger him. "If you say so but if anything ever happens come to me and I'll help you out. Have a good night Devin." He told me before opening the door. He seemed so serious about it that it almost scared me.

I put on a fake smile to hid my confusion. "You too Vin. I hope works goes well tomorrow for you." He smiled at me before walking out and closing the door behind him.

Once he was gone I fell forward a bit against the door and took a few deep breaths as I took in the whole conversation. I composed myself once again and walked into the kitchen where I saw Ricky was finishing up loading the dish washer which was the last thing he would have to do. He  stop when he saw my come in and he straighten his back as he looked me over.

"What is it?" I ask him turning my head to the side slightly. He was looking at me pretty intensely and it made me feel like there was something on my face with how he was studying me.

"You know you associate with some interesting people." He told me flatly.

"What do you mean by that?" I ask him because I could tell by his tone of voice he wasn't taking this topic lightly.

"You don't know who he works for do you?" He ask me and I shook me head. He started laughing after I did that. "You thought what I did was bad at one point who he works for is ten time worse then anything you could imagine."
