Chapter 11: Mistake or Love
I felt naked in the dress I had chosen for Cameron’s party. It was skimpy and short well I hadn’t chosen it Amber had. She had paired it with heels and a clutch. It had straps but the rouching on the side made it ridiculously clinging and the metallic fabric didn’t add much improvement.
It wasn’t what I was used to but she said it looked killer, so I just took her word for it. Sighing I applied some red lipstick I looked into the mirror. My hair had just started to grow back out. The roots of my color were returning to their original color.
Sighing I grabbed my clutch and slipped on the towering heels. If it was up to me I would have just worn a jean skirt converse and a band t-shirt. I was so nearly tempted to put that on instead but I knew Cameron would like this better.
Once again I looked into the mirror and saw I girl I didn’t know, I didn’t quite feel like myself anymore but change was good right?
I switched off the bathroom light and went down the stairs. My mom and Paul were sitting in the living room watching tv. My mom didn’t even look around before shouting.
“Be home by two.” She called her voice completely monotone. We hadn’t quite forgiven each other.
“Okay,” I replied like an obedient little girl. I kept walking opening the door the bitter December air biting at my skin. I wish I had brought a coat or a jacket but it was too late, Cameron had already pulled into my driveway.
Smiling I darted for his car. Opening the door I slid into the toasty car.
“Hey sexy.” Cameron said looking me over hungrily.
“Hey,” I smiled nervous under his gaze. I gave him a once over, just a button up shirt jeans and his cowboy boots, typical Cameron clothes.
Cameron shifted the gar into gear pulling his truck from my driveway. We pulled up to someone’s house; I had no clue who even lived there. Cameron parked the car getting out and he started to walk to the party. But turned around waiting on me.
Pushing open the door I followed him, he slung an arm around my shoulders pulling me closer. He was nice and warm, I leaned into him.
I could hear the massive bass belting from the house with lyrics you couldn’t understand. It was rap of some sort, not very good in my opinion. I like rock much better. We walked into the house.
The lights were dim and gyrating bodies filled nearly every corner. Cameron pulled my closer heading off to the right. We ended up in a huge kitchen and nearly every surface was filled with empty and full cups of alcohol. It reeked of many things in this house.
It was a mixture of weed, beer and sweat. And none of those smells were pleasant alone let alone mixed together in one giant mosh pit.
“Beer?” Cameron asked holding me out a cup.
“No thanks,” I said.
“Why not?” he demanded. Causing my happy mood fade. “It’s not going to hurt you, god you don't ever loosen up do you?” He hissed slamming down the cup. “Find me once you loosen up.” And just like that he walked off.
I was taken aback; I had never seen him get that angry over something so small. There was something different about Cameron but I just couldn’t but my finger on it. Confused I left the kitchen in the opposite direction Cameron had.
It was piping hot in this place. As I rounded the corner I was in a living room type area. But that was being occupied by at least five couples, strewn over the chairs and couches all making out. And some were missing key articles of clothing.
