Not Giving Up

Carnell was in the club that night too. He was having a great time. Poppin bottles, girls hanging all over him, and throwing money. To spare their friend's feelings for the sake of it being her birthday night, they rushed her out the club. They continued the celebration in another club that night.

- Carnell

I needed that night with my brothers. It was cool to just let go for a minute and enjoy the night. With all the bullshit that's going on right now I need a vacation from life. Can't blame nobody but my damn self. I'm so fucking tired of all these hoes man but..at the same time they're so convient! Only when they understand it's strictly sex. That's why I kept Mercedes around, she understood the system and did as she was told. Nylah on the other hand doesn't get it at all. We use to date for about two years. She was one of the rats that got the princess treatment. Nylah was a nice girl, and smart too but once we started dating she turned into a whole different type of species of bitch. She wants to get back together and ain't no way I'm leaving Milena for her crazy ass.

Milena...Milena..Milena. I picked up my phone to check the date, 9/5/13. "The fucking 5th..." I fell back on my bed and drug my hands down my face. Milena's birthday was two days ago. I shook my head and sighed. Ain't no coming back from this one. I'm not even doing this on purpose shit just happens. With all that's going on I've been trying to keep my distance from her but not cut my girl off. I know it sounds shady but I don't mean it. Let me try to find her something.

"Has Carnell called yet?" Kendra asked. I sighed. "No...I'm starting to worry about him. What if something happened to him?" "If some shit happened to him his brother would've told you by now. Stop taking up for his stupid ass." Gia told me. We're at work and it's been slow and boring so we had time to chat. "You talk to the dude from the club? He was a cutie" "She was too quick to give him your number. The way you were drooling I just knew you would give up the box that night." We laughed and I couldn't hold back my smile. I really did enjoy bumping into my mystery guy, I mean Patrick. I kind of like that I can put a name to a face now. "We actually met at a party a few months ago and since then I've just been bumping into him." "Dump Carnell then! Ol' boy definitely seemed interested in you" "Stop it Gia! Leave her alone. If she's happy with him let her be happy." We got back to work. I'm so tired of hearing people tell me to leave Carnell. He really isn't as bad as people say he is. Sure he has done some questionable shit but I just can't give up and leave him. I've never cared about someone in such a short time. I really do love this guy..I don't want to throw this away yet.

"Excuse me I'm looking for Charles Williamson's office." I looked up and it was Patrick. Let me tell you he looks so sexy in a suit. I'm guessing he noticed me checking him out. He leaned on the counter and smirked. "Are you sure you're not stalking me?" "I'm positive I'm not but if I were..I know you wouldn't mind." He said while staring into my eyes. "Don't you have some place to be Patrick?" "I'm in no rush, he can wait. You trying to get rid of me?" He licked his lips. Wow...I mean no! "Yeah I am actually." "Why would you want to do that to me Milena? I'm your favorite person to see." "And what makes you think that?" "Every time I've ran into you your face has lit up. Even at the party we talked as if we've known each other for some time. There's a connection and you know it." He grabbed my hand and rubbed it a little. "So..we've established that I'm very attracted to you and you may be in denial about it now but you think I look good and you want me." I was in a full on blush! Patrick smiled at me. He was right but I couldn't let this flirt date continue. I have a boyfriend already. "Let me take you on a date." I took my hand back. "I can't Patrick." "Yes she can!" We quickly looked over in Kendra and Gia's direction as they pretended to be busy with work. Patrick chuckled. "Why is that?" "I have a boyfriend that I really care about and I'm sure he wouldn't want me going on a date with another guy." He placed his hand over his heart with the cutest puppy dog look. "Ouch..I gotta ask though. If he was so important to you why didn't you tell me this when I asked you for your number?" He had a point. "Just one date and if you hate me after that I'll leave you alone." I could hear Kendra and Gia scoot closer to get a better listen. "No." I said with a smile. "But Mr. Williamson's office is down the hall to the right." Patrick put his hands in his pockets and backed up as he was going to head to Mr. Williamson's office. "I'm not done with you." I fought back a smile and watched him walk away.

I'm nervous as fuck. I never seen Lena mad before and I'm praying she's not some psycho that's gonna smash my windows. She's always been easy going about shit. I bought her a tennis bracelet for $600 she better not blow up on me. She gets off at 4pm, I don't know why she's not here yet. It only takes 20 minutes to drive from downtown to her house. I just keep pacing back and forth on her porch. Where is she at? It's 4:35pm. I don't even give a fuck if Royce shows up here right now. He gotta find out sooner or later and I'm tired of sneaking around here. My legs can't even keep still. I take a seat on the steps and put my face in my hands. One more thing to stress about.. I have never in my life got this nervous over a chick being mad at me. What the hell is wrong with me! And why is she taking so long? 4:37pm time is moving too slow. "Carnell?" I popped my head up immediately as Milena walked toward me. I rushed over to her and kissed her all over. "I'm so sorry baby. I'm so sorry!" I couldn't stop kissing on her. I could feel her smiling into the kiss. The Lord was lookin out for me this time, she's not crazy! "I missed you so much Carnell." Her eyes glistened. I hope she wasn't about to cry. "I missed you too. I'm sorry I missed your birthday. I just had a lot going on with work. You forgive me?" I had the saddest look on my face. I was seriously sad too! "Yeah. Just don't disappear on me like that again. I was worried about you!" I picked her up, walked up the stairs. "Keep this image in mind. I'll be picking you up just like this when we get married." "How do you know I'll be marrying you in the future." She fixed one eyebrow up. She's too silly. "Do you want to get dropped?" "No!" We laughed as I pressed my forehead against hers. I put her down so she could open the door. We walked in and I grabbed her waist with one hand and gave her the rectangle box with the other. "Happy Birthday." I kissed her on her neck watching her open her gift. Now I just have to stay on my best behavior. We are going to get married too, I don't know why she would question that. Can't nobody treat her better than I can.
