"But I want to!"

"And I said no! No you can't!"

"Whyyyyy??"

"Because I don't want it! It's ugly, and has," I wave my hands around in exaggeration. " ... Silk." I say, shivering as I do.

For the past half an hour, Lucy has taken her time to bug me on, and on, and on about this stupid dress! She knows I wouldn't wear something like that if my life depended on it! It's got no back for crying out loud and the front is half gone with only a few laces holding it together. It flows down to ankle length and is a pinky beige colour. So, in my eyes the only other way to describe it is... A mess!

"Be honest, why don't you like it?" She says with that 'I know you too well' look.

"Because it's too open and revealing!" I practically yell, throwing my arms around to try and help prove my point.

"Ugh, why can't you be a bit risky for once Gee?" She sighs, and I can hear the slight frustration in her voice. "It's not that bad."

"I dunno, I guess it's ju-" I pause mid sentence when I see it. "That one!" I walk towards it a stare in awe. It's a one shouldered ankle length dark night sky blue dress that lose s a bit at the bottom. It's close to skin tight but not quite there, covers any cleavage completely but shows off the back. The strap has blue roses and they continue down the side of the dress until it meets just above the hip and beneath the last flower is a bow. Everything thing is then ripped of by the the silver, starlike sparkles that are dotted everywhere.

I have never seen a dress more beautiful. I hear footsteps behind me and- "Oh! My! GOD!!! ITS PERFECT!!!" Lucy squeals off the top of her lungs, bopping up and down like a child, wearing a smile like a hyena. "What are you just looking at it for!? Go try it on!"

I do as she says, grabbing my dice and then rushing into a changing room. Before walking out I check myself in the mirror to see if it looks okay. My dark brown curls blending everything together. I check the price just to make sure it's affordable If I do want it.

Nope. Definitely not affordable.

I sigh before walking out to show Lucy. Her face completely drops before she stands up and squeals. "Oh my god. Oh my god! Oh My God!!! It's Gorgeous!!! You have to have this!!! You NEED to!!!" Again, she jumps up and down constantly.

"Yeah, that's great and all, but it's way out of my price range. So, no." I tell her, downing myself about it as well.

"No! You have to get it! I'll pay half!"

"No Hun, no you really won't. Thanks for the offer though." I turn on my heels slight about to walk away until she stops me in my tracks and says
"How much?"

"462"

"Oh..." She looks away and back at me.

"Yeah, oh. It won't happen."

I step into the changing room and just as I close the curtain I hear her say "Unless..."

I pop my head out of the curtain and say "I'm listening."

"How much did you earn from that old part time job you had. You know, the money you never spent? And then that couple hundred from selling that Aston Martin ONE-77 your mum said you could either keep or sell. Of course you could get it!" She stated, as if pointing out the obvious.

"Then what am I supposed to save up with?"

"Be honest, you don't know what you're doing with that money, do you?" She claims, and it actually annoys me that she knows me so well.

"Now that I think about it. Yes, yes I do know." I announce with my hands on my hips and my head held high.

"Oh really, then what is that?" She questions, not believing me.

I raise my index finger in the air and yell "This dress!" And I strut towards to counter.

"You need to change first!" She shouts from across the store when I've reached halfway.

"I knew that!" I yell back as I turn on my heals and go back the way I came before walking straight into my previously used changing room and get into my original clothes.

I spent at least 4 more hours of shopping with Lou, since she insists on getting us different sets of matching lingerie, which I don't see the point in because no ones gonna see it, are they? But eventually I gave in, however I didn't buy myself anything else besides the dress but let her drag me everywhere.

When I finally walked through my door at home I flung my bags on the table and three myself on the sofa.

My mum walked in the room all cheery and said "Had a good day then I'm guessing?" Her blonde hair up in a messy ponytail but still long enough to flow down her shoulders.

I moan a slight 'uh- huh' to her and raise my arm with a thumbs up.

"Good, take your stuff to your room and come back down shortly, dinners nearly done." She motions me to sit up and when I don't she sits on my back.

"Okay, okay! I'm up, get off." I exclaim, trying to push her off me. She just laughs at this and stands up and sits back down when I've grabbed my bags and started walking up the stairs.

I hang up the clothes and put the dress right at the back so I won't be damaged and just as I do so, my phone beeps.
