"Thank you so much!" You told the taxi driver and gave him the money for the ride. You straightened your dress as you got out. You were wearing a black top and cream coloured blazer and pants. You had black heels and a purse that matched as well.

You took a  deep breath. You weren't a fan of attending parties. But this was your best friend, [y/bf/n]'s, party. You couldn't skip it.

You started to walk up the driveway, towards the house in front. Another deep breath and you rang the doorbell. A few moments later the door swung open, a very excited friend greeted you.

"[y/n]! I'm so happy to see you! You look AMAZING!" Your friend said and hugged you. "You look amazing too!" You said and gave her the gift you bought.

She smiled and led you to her backyard. The place was full of young people, guys and girls. You weren't the best person at socialising.

Just then, the door bell rang. "Sorry, I have to get that. Relax and... socialise!" Your friend walked away, leaving you awkwardly standing alone.

You recognised a few people. They're always here on [y/bf/n]'s birthday but you didn't connect with anyone. The thing you loved about your best friend was that she always kept you occupied if you had no one to talk to.

You fidgeted with your hands, palms sweating. You couldn't shake off the guy that kept glancing towards you in the corner.

He was alone too. He wore a white shirt and black pants.  He had a drink in his hand.

You tried to ignore him but he you found  him pretty good looking. You struggled to find something else to occupy your attention.

Thankfully, [y/bf/n] walked back, a smile plastered on her face. "Umm, [y/bf/n], who's that?" You asked while descreetly pointing at the guy.

"That's Dylan. He's a family friend. I've known him forever, ignore the cliché. He definately likes you," your friend replied. You slapped her arm, making her laugh. You wondered how you never knew about Dylan.

Dylan probably spotted you both looking at him because he started walking up to you. You grew nervous. Panic crept throughout your body. You didn't know what to say.

"Hey [y/bf/n]!" Dylan greeted. "Hi Dyl!" Your friend greeted. Your smiled nervously. "Oh, I should introduce you two to each other," your friend said, "[y/n], Dylan. Dylan, [y/n]." You shook Dylan firm hand.

Things got very interesting then. For the rest of the party, you and Dylan spent time together. You laughed till you cried, you smiled till your cheeks hurt. You got to know him better and you weren't nervous anymore.

He told you about the numerous times he played pranks and teased [y/bf/n]. You could imagine her reaction to every single one.

After cutting the cake and eating food, it was time to leave. "Umm, [y/n]... I'd love to drive you home. It's late anyway," Dylan offered. You smiled, "Thank you, Dylan. You're so kind!" You hugged your friend and said goodbye. You walked with Dylan towards his car.

You were glad you came to the party, otherwise you would have never met Dylan O'brien.
