"Hey [y/n], what can I get you?" The guy, Robert, at the counter asked. "Just the usual Rob... but change the fudge brownie to a cherry jam filled powdered doughnut," You requested, your mouth watering at the thought of a powdered doughnut.
Doughnuts are your comfort food. Chocolate ones, ones with sprinkles or just the plain glazed ones. You loved all of them. Who doesn't love doughnuts?!
Robert handed you your order and you walked to your favourite spot in the coffee shop: the table by the window.
You placed the items on the table and took a seat. A magazine about movies caught your eye and you went to get it. "Hey Dylan!" Robert greeted as a young guy entered the coffee shop. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a black plaid on top, jeans and sneakers.
'Dylan' removed his sunglasses and clipped them on the collar of his shirt. "Hey Rob!" He replied, "Can I have a doughnut please, and iced coffee?"
"What doughnut would you like?" Robert inquired. "Umm... A powdered one please," Dylan requested, which made Robert frown. You heard their conversation as you walked back to your table.
You heard Dylan sigh. "Oh okay... then I'll just have the iced coffee," He said. Even though you didn't know the guy, you couldn't stand seeing him disappointed. You quickly put your doughnut in its paper bag and walked towards the guy.
"Uh, excuse me, Dylan? I couldn't help but hear that you wanted a powdered doughnut," You said, "I happened to have taken the last one." You held the bag out towards him.
"It's untouched and I don't think I'll be able to eat it," You stated. You weren't lying. The truth was, you bought it out of temptation. It just looked so good!
Dylan stared at you then smiled. You could sense his hesitation but he eventually took the bag. "Thanks!" He said, making you smile.
"I'm [y/n]," You introduced. Dylan took his iced coffee from the counter, "Well [y/n], it's nice to meet you."
You walked with him to the doors. "See you around?" Dylan said and you nodded. He left the coffee shop leaving you standing alone.
Robert smirked. You couldn't help but feel really happy today.
