Tessa's POV
I woke up around noon. I never used to sleep so late. But I've been having nightmares. And they keep me up most of the night.
I've been here for about 4 weeks now. Nothing much has happened. It was the same thing everyday. Same routine.
I wake up every afternoon, I take a shower, get dressed, go downstairs and Mackenzie is already here and making lunch.
We eat lunch, watch some movies, start making dinner, then my mate comes home and Mackenzie leaves.
I didn't want to leave the house. I knew the pack members would want to meet their alphas mate. I wasn't ready to meet so many people.
Speaking of my mate. We hardly spoke since we fought. And when we do we end up fighting. He's been keeping his distance from me lately. Thank god.
It's been hard staying away from him. I literally wanted to jump him every time I saw him. I try to keep my hormones under control but it gets harder with each day that passes.
That's why mates don't wait long to mate. The bond makes it impossible for us to be under control around each other. That's why we're both so angry and frustrated.
It also isnt easy because he's an alpha. His need is a lot worst than a normal werewolf. But I had to admit, he was really good at self control . Unlike me.
Anyways, I should get out of bed. I did my bed and I went to my closet. Mackenzie ordered so much clothes for me. I didn't need this much.
I needed a bigger closet. I tried telling her I don't need this much. But she does it anyway. I didn't want to mess with a pregnant wolf.
I chose dark blue jeans, with a white crop top and a grey plaid button up. I took a quick shower and I got dressed.
I threw my hair in a messy bun and I slipped on my white converse. I went downstairs and I heard Mackenzie in the kitchen.
I saw a basket and a blanket on the counter. I was confused. What on earth was going on.
"Good your up. We're going on a picnic." She says happily.
"I domt know if that's a good idea." I tell her.
"Don't worry, I told Hunter. He said okay. But we can't go far." She says. My heart was beating fast. Was I ready to go outside.
"Don't worry. I know a quiet place by a lake. It's not far. It's behind Hunters house. No one will be there." She says and I feel my relax.
"Okay." I say.
"Come on." She says.
We walk out the house and into the backyard. I never noticed how beautiful the backyard was. I couldn't believe this was here the whole time. It looked so peaceful.
"My mom did this. And Hunter takes really good care of it. My father and Hunter built that for my mom." She says pointing at a beautiful water fountain in the middle.
"My mom would always sit on that bench under that tree and read books with a cup of tea in her hands." She says sadly remembering her.
"She seemed like an amazing lady." I say and she smiles softly at me.
"She was. She was always there for us. She put us first. My father wasn't always around but when he was he made up for his absence. " she says.
"You guys had a nice childhood." I say. I never felt that.
"I'm sure you had a great one too." She tells me.
"An average one." I say not wanting to say more.
