The cell

Sif laid alone in her chambers. Loki was alive, but not just this he had been in New York creating havoc. Her heart broke, she wished he had found a way home to her. She had only just come of terms with his 'death' but now he was alive, her body couldn't take it, she felt weak. There was a knock on the door which made her jump. 'Enter.' She called without moving. A low voice spoke from behind her. 'Sif? Are you unwell?' Thor's voice gave away that he was clearly perplexed by her actions. 'No, I'm fine.' She sighed. 'Then I do not understand why you are laying down. It is not night.' She turned to face him and sat up. 'It is none of your concern. What did you need?' Thor went on to inform her Loki had returned and was being held in the prisons. He did not noticed her sudden breath of relief. 'As you were not present when he arrived I thought I should inform you in person.' She thanked him and watch him leave. The look in his eyes told her he was pained. He loved his brother dearly but he felt betrayed.

She snuck to the prisons that night, the guards who saw her swore not tell a soul she was there. It may have had something to do with her threatening them but she needed to see Loki. She was led to his cell on have far end of the dungeon. 'Thank you.' She whispered to the guard before he left. She stood for a moment just watching the man she loved, he looked so different. He was sat with his back to her, hair longer than she remembered but still as dark as night, and as his head shot up and turned towards her she saw his eyes were still that glorious shade of green she adored. 'Sif?' He moved closer to the cell wall, his eyes flickered from anger and malevolence to sorrow. 'I didn't expect to see you. Not when I am this guarded.' He looked deeply at her as she took a step forward, wishing she could touch him. 'Well it seems you are not the only one who can threaten Loki. They won't tell a soul I was here. I had to see you. Despite...' She stopped, a lump formed in her throat. 'Despite what I have done...' He finished. 'My love I do not wish for you to think of me differently. I mourned my loss of you when I was exiled. I was alone, I needed your warmth. Without it I...I felt cold, so cold I felt my sanity slipping. I had no choice Sif, please believe me.' Sif felt a slight surge of anger fill her. 'You can not blame me for your actions, you chose to let go!' She felt her voice raising, Loki recoiled slightly. 'I was not my love, I was merely stating that my love for you conflicted where I was in my head, I regret my decision to leave. Sif please, you must know I love you.' He looked pleadingly to her, his eyebrows quivering slightly as his face failed to control his emotions. She placed her hand against the barrier, he placed his the other side. 'I do know...and I love you more so.' She stayed most of the night, until a guard informed she was being searched for. Reluctantly she left Loki behind, their gazes lingering until she turned the corner. As she entered her chambers she felt a pit form, she knew Loki should be here with her. There was another knock on the door...whomever was looking for her had now found her.
