Matters of the heart (Fandral to Loki)

Sif awoke in the middle of the night, she looked to her side and found Fandral sleeping beside her. She sighed. Their romance had been on and off for a while, he was reliable and everything she needed but she felt something was missing. She felt she had done what was expected of her. She climbed from her bed and wrapped her cloak around her body. She snuck from her chambers, careful not to wake the man in her bed. The night sky was beautiful, and the air was cooling. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, feeling herself unwind. Her eyes shot open when she heard something behind her. She shot around and saw a figure in the shadows. She opened her mouth to speak but the figure was in front of her in seconds and placed their hand upon her mouth. 'Please don't...' Jet green eyes met her hazel. She knew them instantly. 'Loki...' She mumbled under his hand. He removed his hand and smirked at her. 'It is good to see you Sif.' She let her mouth open and close several times before words came out. 'What are you doing here? We believed you gone..' He laughed. 'Yes and I will remain that way. There was just one thing I needed to do.' He reached forwards and pulled her to him, placing a kiss upon her soft lips. She fought at first but then found herself immersed in it. She pulled and stepped back. 'What are you doing? You can't do that! You know I love Fandral.' He laughed harder. 'Do you? Truly? Or does your heart yearn for something a little darker?' He watched her expression falter, she was clearly thinking about it. 'Your heart is mine, I know it and you know it. One day you will see it.' He turned away and stepped back into the shadows, his green eyes the only thing visible. 'If you change your mind...just call my name. I will take you from here. We will be together.' Then silence fell. Sif stood stunned. Was she awake? She walked slowly back into her chambers and her eyes fell back on Fandral...was Loki right? Did her heart not belong here?
