The Rescue

It was dark, water dripped onto the floor, Sif's heavy breathing was the only sound in the room. She opened her eyes and saw nothing but darkness, a small slit of light shone a small crack in the stone wall, a stream of dust was visible only in this light. She knew not why she was here but she knew why she had been taken. Her capture was under orders to get as much information about the layouts of Asgard as possible, she guessed they planned to invade and with her here she could not stop them, but no matter how many times they beat her she would not tell. She had made an oath when she became a warrior to die with Asgard's secrets in tact, she would protect it at all costs. Footsteps rang through the narrow hall outside her apparent cell, echoing louder as they stopped before her door. A key was placed within it and slowly the door creeped open, creaking on it's ancient hinges. Light flooded in as a figure stood in the doorway, but he was just a shadow to her. She blinked at the sudden light, her eyes watering as the light hit them. 'Now my lady....shall we try again today? Or are we to continue this act for another three weeks?' Sif looked up to him, a smirk on her face. 'Do as you wish, I care not what happens to me.' The figure walked towards her, a sword in one hand and a spiked weapon in the other.' 'Clearly.' He snarled as the door slammed shut behind them. She looked up and smirked at the man, fear not present on her face. 'Now...' He began pacing around her. 'What is the best route into Asgard?' She didn't answer, he walked around to the front of her and stared harshly into her eyes waiting for an answer, but still her lips didn't move. He lifted the spiked weapon, she didn't flinch as he swiped it across her face, three huge gashes appeared on her cheek and blood oozed down her neck and soaked into her attire. Still she didn't show fear despite the fact her face stung with intense pain. 'I shall ask again, the best way into Asgard.' She looked up and the man was suddenly flying across the room. 'I am afraid she doesn't know the answer to that, but I do.' Came a silvery voice, she looked around for the owner of it but she saw nothing. The man scrambled from the floor, he looked around panicked and made haste for her with a dagger but before he reached her he froze, his neck gushing blood. He fell limp to the floor. 'Honestly Sif, do you always have to get yourself into these situations?' A velvet laugh filled her ears as she felt herself being freed from her reigns. Loki appeared in front her, his invisibility was just an illusion, she should have known. He helped her to her feet and held her strong. 'You took long enough finding me' She scorned, he smirked. 'I knew where you were all along, I just fancied being the hero for a change.' Her jaw dropped, he could see she was preparing to fight back at him. 'Hey...in my defence you look pretty attractive all beaten.' He ran a finger along her cuts, she flinched under his touch, the pain still intense. 'You really are twisted.' She groaned as she limped out of the cell, Loki still holding her up. 'Well yes...I am aware...but you wouldn't have me any other way.' He smirked proudly, his eyes bearing down into hers. 'Admit it...I know you have feelings for me.' She scoffed in reply. 'In your dreams....' She said unconvincingly, he let her go and she stumbled against the wall. 'Alright then..I'll just leave you here then shall I?' He stepped away, laughing softly. She frowned at him, if she could cross her arms she would but they were supporting her as she clung to the wall, her leg had given in. 'Fine...I may have...something for you.' She hissed, annoyed. He smiled in triumph and held onto her again, leading her from dank dungeon. 'I already knew this...but it's rather enjoyable to hear.' He continued being smug throughout the journey home, Sif did her best not to get wound up but that was his affect on her, they often got mistaken as a couple because of their attitudes to the other. 'Right then my lady, off to the healers with you.' He winked as they reached home. 'Finally.' She breathed in delight, perhaps now she could escape him. As he carried her to the healing him he didn't stop watching her, she found herself flushing under his stare but she found it very difficult to look away. He placed her down in front of a healer and kissed her hand. 'I shall inform them of your return, be well Sif.' He kissed her cheek before striding from the room in a confident manner. She stared after him as in some kind of trance, she had forgotten to breath until the healer coughed awkwardly from beside her. 'Sorry..' She turned to her, her mind elsewhere as she was being bandaged up.
