Chapter Seven

*Katie's P.O.V*

My eyes flickered open, go why was I so stiff and sore. Wait where was I. The last thing I remember was being in someone's house, who's house. Oh Toms house, everything came flooding back, I remember Lauren and Gary's voice, he apologised for not protecting me that was all I remember I knew I couldn't do anything but I could hear them. I was suddenly aware that I was in a hospital and I heard the door open.

"Katie! You're awake!" It was Gary, I've never been so happy to see him before in my whole life. He ran over to me and put his drink on the table "I'll call for a doctor."

"Wait." I just managed to get out, I had to cough to get my voice back. "What happened?"

He explained everything to me, how I left with Tom, how him and Lauren had come to save me and how I'd got taken to hospital and how Tom is currently in custody but has been granted bail and how I'd been here for nearly a week. "Katie, why are you crying?" I didn't even realise I was until he pointed it out.

"Because of you, you saved me Gary, who knows what he would have done, how far he would have gone if you weren't there to save me, you promised me you'd protect me and you did, I'm sorry for everything I said that night, I'm sorry if I made you fell like shit, I was in shock and confused. I didn't mean a word I said, I need you in my life." I only just managed to get that out over my tears.

"I'm the reason all this happened in the first place, I'm the reason you went with him and got raped, I'm the reason you're here. I deserved everything you said to me at the club, because you're right I did abandon you and I obviously did a shitty job of protecting you because you're currently lying in a hospital bed." He tried to put the blame on himself.

"Don't you dare blame yourself Barlow! I would have gone home with him whether you turned up at the club or not, but you were there to save me, you can't leave me again." He held my hand and looked me directly in the eyes and I noticed that he was also on the verge of crying, he said whipping away my tears with his free hand.

"As long as you want me around, I'll be here for you. I'll never leave you again, unless you want me to, but I won't go without at least fighting for you. Now I'm going to call the nurse to tell her you're awake, you'll probably have to go have some tests done, but I'll be here waiting for you when you get back and I'll call Lauren to tell her you're awake." He kissed me on my forehead and walked away to get the nurse.

"Hello Katie" this female nurse greeted me as she walked in the from with Gary just behind. "I'm nurse Jay, I'm your nurse, is it okay if we take you to have some tests done to make sure everything's fine?" She politely asked. I just nodded. "Right okay then." She walked out the room to get a couple of others who would take me to wherever they were doing the tests. Gary must have been able to see that I was worried.

"You'll be fine, I promise I will be here when you get back." Just then two doctors came in, detached everything they needed to and wheeled me away.

We finally reached the room where all the tests were going to be done, I managed to get a glimpse of the clock, it was only 10 in the morning. After about 2 hours of tests and being poked and prodded with just about everything I was finally allowed to walk back to my room. I said that I needed to go toilet and they said that, that was fine and they'd take my bed back down. I felt like I was going to burst, after I'd finished I looked in the mirror, I looked like complete shit and was in desperate need of a shower, before I'd noticed I had bruises all over my body from HIM. I washed my face and freshened up slightly, I'd gotten a bobble of the nurse earlier so I now put my hair up in a bun. I walked down the corridor and noticed that there was people starring at me, I heard someone whisper.
