"Babe, is it okay if I use your shower? It's just I haven't had one since like Thursday morning and I didn't have time to have one last night especially after being in the hot tub so that's quite gross really." Gary asked after watching about four episodes of friends and realising it was gone three.

"What happened in the hot-"

"Yeah that's fine, there's towels in the bathroom and you can see if there's anything in any of my draws or closest that you could wear." I said cutting Lauren off from asking a question I was dreading. "Shit, I didn't even think to pack all my stuff this morning." I pouted at realising some of my stuff was still at Garys.

"It's fine, you can keep whatever you want there ready for whenever you stay round." He said standing up then kissing my forehead.

I smiled to myself as he walked up the stairs, a genuine smile. I was genuinely happy for once. As soon as he got to the top of the stairs Lauren came and sat next to me on the sofa where Gary was just sat.

"Right." She said then took a pause. "Talk to me." She said like and excited school girl finishing out the latest gossip.

"Erm... Hi." I responded unsure what she actually wanted me to say.

"No idiot, talk to me properly." She widened her eyes obviously expecting me to know what she wanted me to talk to her about.

"You're not giving me much to work with here, what do you want me to talk about? What's been on the TV lately? What's been on the news? The weather? Yes it's great weather for this time of-"

"No," She cut me off. "You and Gary, what it was like when you were younger, why you never told me about him, what happened while I was gone, what you thinks going to happen." She said to much in one sentence.

"Right, sure. I'm sure he's told you most things by now though..." I trailed off being unsure of what they actually discussed while I was out for the week.

"How and when did you two meet when you were younger?" She asked with curiosity sparking in her eyes.

"Oh god, that seems so long ago. We started primary school at the same time obviously with our birthdays being two days apart, but we never really talked to each other until the end of year six before we moved up to secondary school."

"Obviously we probably played with each other when we were in the beginning years of school but neither of us could really remember. Yeah so by the end of primary school we were practically inseparable because we both had the same taste in everything from music to food."

"We spent most of that summer together, we'd go out practically everyday and just do random crap like we were both so into singing and writing songs, but of my were they all shit of course because what two eleven year olds who knew next to nothing about music properly going to write a decent song?" I asked laughing at the memory.

"That summer seemed to go so quickly, you know what they say 'time flies when you're having fun' and fuck me did it fly by. We went down to the lake that wasn't far from our houses it was tucked away so there was never really anyone else there apart from us, we actually both had our first kiss by that lake, well it was with each other so." Lauren's eyes widen at this new information, I kept talking before she could say anything.

"Yes I know, we were both just curious and I mean come on, we were eleven we thought it would be fun to start high school and be like 'yeah we've kissed someone other than our mums.'" Both Lauren and I laughed at mine and Garys strange idea.
