Team Offer

*Someone approaches Jay as you get Puzzle ready. Its past the dressage and Jay won!!! Now. Its your turn. You over-hear their conversation,"I'd like to offer you a once in a lifetime deal. Germany could use some riders like you. If you accept the offer to move to Germany and join our olympic team, I will pay for your plane trip and travel expenses." the man said. Jay replied,"What is it in for me? Why is it so important for me to switch teams...and move half across the country for some team. I like my team now. What do you offer that they don't?" Jay sounded angered and upset. "Umm...what do we have. Let me see." he started counting out on his fingers, "First off we have the best riders in the world. We have better horses than anyone in the world. And also. We are better than any other country." He smiled acting proud...too proud for a country that actually isnt the top. "Ok. Well. Explain this to me. USA has won more Gold and medals all together than your country. The horses arent better...its not even the rider. Its the team. The bond. Im being honest here, riders mean nothing to me. Its the horse. Ill have to say no. You don't deserve me, you deserve a german born rider. Its no fair trying to steal USA or any other countries riders and horses. Stay on your own turf next time. Also think twice before approaching a USA rider. Goodbye sir." Jay walked off as the man stands there puzzled and in shock. A few minutes later he storms off. Jay looks at me and smiles as she comes back to me with Rufio. "People these days...They can't take a hint." Jay says to you as she brushes down Rufio and takes his braids out. You stand in shock but soon have to go to arena to warm up. 30 minutes later, your name is called. Entering the ring you put on a brave face and imagine the course. You hear a bell and begin to pick up a canter. You head to the first jumping. Clear and really over it not even a little tap. You take a sharp turn to the next jump, a triple bar. You go up and over easy. Then its the water jump. Up and....YAY no splash! You look back the judge doesnt throw a red flag. Your clear. You move onto the rest of the course. Jumping the last jump, a huge oxer. Over. And. Back down. Clear. You glance over to the clock. The time puts you in first!!! Only one more rider is to go and he has already had one down in yesterdays competition. Today is the finals and you look at the score and results hoping you can stay in first! The other rider finishes knocking down 4 jumps..and getting one refusal...bad luck. You trot over to Jay and hop off. You put on a huge smile,as she acts confused. "What did you do?" she asks. You hop off and hold Puzzle. "I won the class! I got in the time and got the second clear of the day. I have gotten a complete round of clears all this olympics! Im the first to do that in a long time!!!" Jay acts like she holds in a scream and then she starts to dance. She has Rufio on the cross ties...who now looks at Jay with a weird look but he soon whinnies to her. "Hey boy. Guess what. My friend here and ya know your friend puzzle won the olympic jumping and we won dressage!!" Rufio's ears perk up and he whinnnies really loud. "Proud much?" you say. Rufio does the smile trick that Nay taught him to do to show that he is happy. You know...people say that horses cant understand you, but the bond between Rufio and Jay shows that they can. You smile and untack Puzzle as you go to put her away the man approaches you. This time Jay doesnt notice. You stare him down, "Go away." He blocks Puzzle's stall. You look puzzle and then he begins to try and take you!! You scream. You reach Puzzle's stall and put her in there shutting it behind you. Before the man pulls you away into hiding, Jay notices something is wrong. She turns around and you can see that she is calling someone on her phone. Before you knew it everything blacked out as something hits the back of your head. 2 hours later. Tour eyes startle awake. Jay sits beside you and something cold is behind your head,so you feel for it, its an ice pack. Jay asks, "What happened?" you stutter with your words but you make it work, "Thhhiiss man. He approached me...annnnddd..aaaa...nnn...ddd he he he didnt speak. He tried to grab me and I put puzzle away just in time. He dragged me and...then then then.. It it all went black. Next I knew I was on the ground." Jay nods. You notice another man sitting beside you, he looks to be a doctor.  After a few quiet minutes he finnally speaks, "Do you hurt anywhere?" you reply, "No...atleast I dont think so..just my head." "The head is from you being hit with what we suspect is a metal bar...it hurt i figure but you didnt get a concussion just some brusing and a cut there. We put some patches and stuff on it to protect it. If I were you I wouldnt ride for a week or two.  Give it some time to heal. Here let me help you up." He dtands up and reaches out his hand. You lift your arm slowly...it is sore. You grasp his hand and he pulls you off the hsrd ground, Jay holds your back so you don't fall. You walk around feeling fine just a little shooken up. He walk over to Puzzle who is now eating her hay. You talk a little to her and she seems unphased by what just happened.

Later that day.

You and Jay collaspe onto the hotel beds. Tired of what happened today. Suddenly...we hear knocking. We both look at each other then our eyes lay onto the door. We played the "You open it" game. Afraid of who might be there after all that happened today. Jay loses the game so she has to open it. "Hello?" a man at the door comes in, he is a police officer.
"Hello ladies. I would like to interview you both over what happened today. I would like two sides of the stories. Jay. You first. What happened today? "
Jay answers, "I heard her yelling and I looked over there...and when I did this guy was trying to take her. Before I could get to her she was hit with what looked like a metal pipe and she was down on the ground. Thsts when I call the doctor."
"Do you know anything about the man?"
"Yes. He was the same man who I turned down his offer for me to go to the Germany team."
"Oh. So he is with the Germany team. Thats good to know. Ok next you. The one who was the person involved."
You speak, "He blocked me from putting my horse Puzzle into her stall. When I asked him to move...he got mad and he grabbed me. I was lucky to put my horse in the stall before he pulled away. I screamed for my life and Jay saw me. I saw her calling the doctor and then he held me firm and something smashed into the back of my neck and it went all black from there. Jay and the doctor both said I was out for 2 hours."
"Ok thank you this is what we needed. Have a nice day. By the way. Team USA has guards around your stable and also infront of this door. If anything is wrong yell help and they will come. " He nods and heads out the door.
You turn to Jay, "That makes me feel safer now." Jay agrees. Jay and you close your eyes and fall asleep. Jay is required to wake you up every 3 hours just to make sure you dont have a concussion even though the doctor said you didn't..it is still possible.

This chapter along with half of the other chapters have turned into a bigger idea such as this was only gonna be that Jay was approached by the man to be offered the team thing and then I introduced..the added part. Which was the man approaching you and trying to take the blame on you. Therefore the chapter was born! Let me know what you thought and ehat you think just might happen next!
