Stephan walked out of his room a few minutes later. There was a large commotion in the hallway. He looked past all the rows of people and saw in the front was his father in handcuffs andVictoria talking to the cops. He ran up to her.

“Victoria, what are you doing?”

“Arresting him for what he did to you.”

“Ma’am, is this the boy you were talking about that got hurt?”

“Yes.”

“Son, show us you’re arm,” the other cop said. He lifted up his sleeve to show them, “Ouch that is one big cut.”

“I know it is,” he said then turned away from him and back to Victoria, “Victoria, why are you doing this?”

“Victoria? I thought I was your Girly. Are you mad at me now?”

“Of course I’m mad at you; you have my father in handcuffs over there.”

“Well if you’re just going to have a bad attitude you can just leave, I’m just trying to save your butt from getting hurt again.”

“Fine.” He said turning away and heading back into his room. All the whileVictoriawas just wishing he would just understand that she was just trying to keep him safe.

He went into his room and closed and locked the door. He needed to be alone to think this though. She was just trying to help, for that he couldn’t be mad at her, but he could be mad for the fact that he told her not to. He didn’t want his father in prison, he just screwed up, and everyone screws up sometimes. Everyone deserved a second chance, but then he thought back to his mother, this had been his second chance and he had failed again. He didn’t deserve anymore chances. Then again this was his father he was thinking about, the one who had raised him up to this, let him live…and then trued to kill him. What was there to do? This internal battle raged on inside him. I love her. That was the turning point, he loved her. His father, yes he loved him too. The question now was if his father loved him back. He probably did…but there was no care there. She cared about him, she loved him, she helped him, and that’s what was important. He had to apologize, he couldn’t loose her now.

He waked back out of his room and walked over to her, by this time the police had already left, his father with him. He put his hands on her shoulders and she looked up at him.

“Still mad at me?”

“A bit.”

“Then why are you here?”

“I was wrong.”

“How so?”

“I should have never said anything. You were right. We need him gone to be happy, to be safe. You realized that for me. I know you care, and you love me. That’s what I was lacking with him, the care. You care. I need you more.”

“So what are you saying?”

“Stay with me, forever. I never want to be without you by my side.”

“Stephan, I just landed your father in jail, and you still want to be with me?”

“Of course.”’

“Why?”

He thought for a while before speaking, “because Girly, I’ve been waiting for you, waiting for all my life, and I've been crying for you; dying for you all this time, and I’m not going to lose you tonight.”

She looked up at him and hugged him. He had just recited some of the lyrics of her favorite song. Her eyes filled up with tears and he went down and kissed her.

“It’ll be better now Girly, don’t worry about that.”

“I won’t. Just one question, you’ll always be here to protect me, won’t you?”

“Always.”
