Veins buried themselves into Ferid's flesh, glowing red as they absorbed his blood and transmitted it into the blade of his sword. His pale hand encircle the golden handle and he raised the sword at Yuu. Rage and fear clawed at me. I wanted to rush over to Yuu's aid, but he flashed me a look that clearly said,"I'll handle this." I stood back, poised and ready to jump into the fray if necessary.
Yuu closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Ebony black tendrils snaked from his back. When his eyes opened, they were dark sockets with yellow irises. He looked soulless.
"Yuu?" I asked tentatively, but he didn't seem to hear. Ferid took a panicked step back but soon regained his composure. "You can't fight me, Yuu. You're not skilled. You don't know how to control the power."
Yuu's voice came out raspy and tripled. "I do not require mastery to vanquish you. I have the assistance Asuramaru. Prepare to perish." He raised his hand and a pillar of salt erupted from the ground. With a wave he sent it hurtling at Ferid.
