"Who's ready for an epic adventure!" Kaylee shouted. We were all suited up for white water rafting. I got my lifejacket on and my paddle in my hand. We started loading onto the boats. We had a go pro tied onto the boat. We were pushed into the roaring lake.
"Start paddling!"Lance yelled through the noise of the water crashing against the rocks. I started paddling when my paddle got caught on a rock. The water rushed and knocked it out of my hand.
"NO!" I jumped in, trying to swim to it. My short legs weren't that strong. Once I latched onto it, the boat was far from my view. I heard them shouting my name, but it was faint. I grabbed onto a rock, getting myself to stand on it. I set my right foot on the huge boulder, then my left. But right as I put my left onto it, I slipped. I looked behind me to see that the current was pushing me into a waterfall. This is it, this is the day I die, I've accepted it.
I closed my eyes as the water crashed against my chest one last time before I plummeted down. I opened my eyes up mid-fall. My back hit the water, and my life jacket helped me stay afloat. My right leg scraped against a rock. The water touching my skin stung the cut. I swam onto land. I took a good look around me. I was surrounded by a mountain of carved rocks. I couldn't get out by myself. No one would hear me if I shouted from all the way down here, the water was too loud. I was screwed. Behind me was a cave type thing. I didn't have my phone, nothing. I walked around the cave like tunnel. I looked up and saw movement. Then squeaks. I gulped, realizing what they were. Bats. I slowly back away, more like limping, being careful not to make too much motion and noise. That's when my back made contact with a hard surface, I couldn't help but scream.
Something clamped over my mouth. I slowly moved my eyes down to find hands. Something was touching me. Someone was touching me. Out of instinct, I elbowed the person and broke out of their grasp. They groaned, falling to the floor behind me. I looked back to see Nathan on the floor hugging at the place I elbowed him.
"Nathan! Shit I'm so sorry." I ran to help him up. He was covered in mud, and so was I. I removed his hand from his stomach. There was a purple bruise on his abs. I looked up at him, and his green eyes met mine.
"How'd you find me?" I asked.
"I fell out of the boat, and here I am. How'd you get here?" He returned the question.
"Same way you did. Only my paddle fell out of my hands." Nathan's eyes then grew bigger, but he didn't look directly at me. I slowly turned around, and met with a huge snake. My breath hitched as my breathing became faster. I do that a lot when I'm nervous or scared.
"Get behind me. Now." Nathan instructed, placing his arm before mine. I slowly back away from the reptile. The snake stood taller, flickering its tongue at us. The snake went around us, circling us. I stood as still as I could, but obviously I was shaking at how scared I was. Unexpectedly, it sprung up, and it's teeth sank into my right leg, the one that was scraped on the rock. I yelled out in pain.
"LUNA!" Nathan yelled, stepping on the snake, and slithered away. My right leg felt weak, and I collapsed onto the mud. I hissed at the stinging sensation on my calves. Nathan bent down next to me, looking worried.
"Here." He whispered, carrying me bridal style. The blood was starting to drip down my leg, as it became numb, and the spot was slowly turned purple and blue. Nathan brought me over to a big rock, and sat me down. The blood stained my white adidas. This is going to be bitch to clean off.
"Does it hurt a lot?" He asked, taking his flannel off and wrapping it around the wound. I nodded, wincing in pain. The flannel made it sting even more.
"How do I know if this snake is poisonous?" I questioned, my tone shaky.
"Let's hope it's not, because I wouldn't be able to live without you." He looked deep into my eyes. I wrapped my arm around his neck, pulling him into a hug. I hope someone will find us soon. Nathan observed my leg.
"How'd that cut get there?" He asked referring to the scrape.
"When I fell."
"Oh."
"I'm sorry about earlier. When I elbowed you." I said, tracing over it. His abs were so toned.
"It's okay." He smiled.
