Ben's POV - -

I sat at the bar watching Rey and our son, who was stepping on her feet, dance. I smiled. I have a son. But why didn't she tell me?

Poe sat down next to me.
"Ben you okay?"

"Ya. I guess. Why didn't she tell me Poe? Why did she wait so long?"

"For him." He pointed at our son. "She didn't want to end it Ben. She was thinking about your son. And what was best for him. But also you. You have a career now. You are the vice president of your company because you went to college and you found the perfect job. She didn't want him getting hurt."

I processed what he was saying.

"Do you still love her Ben?"

"Yes, I never stopped. "

"Good. Do you love your son?"

"Yes, even though I just found out and have never met him. I love him. He's my son."

"Good. Give her time. I know Rey, things will smooth over." He got up and walked away.

Rey's POV ~ ~

I lay I  bed after the wedding thinking all about Ben. And how he knows.  He knows about his son. Four too late. Ben has a life now. He doesn't have time for a son.

But what if he does.  What if he cares. I don't know what to do.

"Momma?" James came in.

"What's wrong sweety?" I sat up.

"Is Po ever coming back?" He walked over to me.

"Uncle Poe will come back. I promise.  He wouldn't leave you."

"Momma?"

"Hmm?"

"Where's daddy?"

"What?"

"Where's daddy?"

"Your father... why do you ask?"

"Adam and Max have dads."

"I'll tell you someday James, I'll tell you someday. Let's go downstairs and get something. " I got up and grabbed his hand and walked downstairs.

I made him some chocolate milk and we started watching TV. He fell asleep shortly after.  I got up. Dad came down.

"Why are you both down here?"

"He couldn't sleep... he asked about Ben."

"Like specifically Ben?"

"No, he asked, 'where's daddy?' "

"What did you tell him?"

"That I would tell him someday."

"Ben knows right?"

"Ya. He does, daddy, I don't know what to do. "

"Rey, everything will work out as time goes on. I promise.  You will know what to do. Being a parent is tough. Making the right decisions for our kids is the hardest things your mother and I had to do." I hugged him.
