Chapter Thirty-eight: what I have become

1 month later

Ben's POV - -

What Rey did to me did hurt me. I continuously think about everything she said. To this day I feel like she still left something out of her reasoning.

My phone went off. I checked who was calling. It was Poe.

-"Poe, what's up?"
"Just checking in, haven't heard from you in a while but I can't blame you. I just wanted to update you and see how you were."
"Oh, I'm fine. How's Rey?"
"She's tired, working really hard. Finn has been here for the last two weeks. He's tried to get her out of the house but she only goes out to grocery shop. "
"What about you?"
"Me? Well, I'm in a relationship, someone from high school. Jenna Smith. You probably don't know her, wait her younger brother, Keith Smith."
"Oh, Keith. Ya then I know who Jenna is, that's great Poe, I'm happy for you. Is it serious?"
"Ya actually, she was my best friend in high school, we kinda picked up where we left off."
"Oh that's great."
"Oh, well, Ben, please don't be a stranger. Rey, She's different. Like she never remembered you. I've made the conclusion that she needs you."
"I'll let her make that choice."
"She's home. Gotta go."-

It was an odd conversation. Short. But it's nice to know that people are moving on. Still. Rey did leave something out, but I'll guess I'll never know. And I really want her to sort things out and come to me if she wants. I don't want this pressure of what everyone else wants. And I've come to realize that i am not the same without her. But she has made her choice and i will respect that.
