What She Has Forgotten

Chapter Forty: Rey

Ben's POV ~~

The 20th. We all stood in the church waiting to start rehearsal. I must say that Poe and Jenna a cute. You can tell that they make each other happy.

"Okay Now that the license is squared away shall we proceed with rehearsal?" the officiant asked.

"No," Jenna said, "Rey's not here yet." I realized that she wasn't. The doors opened.

"I am so sorry i'm late, I had to drop off the kid at Gwen's job." Rey said coming in.

She looked at me and smiled then set down her stuff. Jenna hugged her.

"Better late than never Rey." Poe said hugging her, "And I fully understand. We can start now."

The rehearsal ran smoothly. At the end The bride and groom would walk down the aisle together , then followed by the Bridesmaids and groomsmen. There was only me and Rey, so it made things easier.

I linked arms with her. "You look great Rey, How have you been?"

"Great, life has been great. I'm teaching."

"Oh, that's great."

"Ya, I can't believe that Poe is getting married."

"well that's life Rey."

"I guess..."

She stopped talking, she acted awkward towards me. I release her arm at the doors. We ran through it a few times then the night proceeded. Rehearsal dinner. Bride and Groom's last sight of each other then beauty rest, as Jenna put it.

It was all a blur, and not a single word from Rey. I was hoping this time together would change things, but it seems like it is a hopeless cause.
