Dad gave me a look, and I knew what he was telling me, even if he didn't say any words.

"April.." I said. "We need to talk." April gave me a look, and my heart fell. "I know you hate me right now...and I don't blame you."

"Why would you think I hate you?" she asked. "I don't..I'm just frightened." I nodded, but my heart still remained cracked. No way will she ever love a monster like me.

"But, I need to tell you something." I said. "It's something you must keep a secret.."

"Okay," she said. "Tell me." I opened my mouth to tell her, but something rustling off in the distance stopped me. I could hear someone yelling April's name.

"We need to go." I said quickly. April gave me a confused look, and I cradled her in my arms. "I know you don't want me to do this to you anymore, but I'll explain everything later."

"Wait, what?" she asked, and I started running. Her hair blew back, and she burried her face in my jacket, like she did before. Dad followed behind me. After a few minutes of running, he bit down on the bottom of my jacket, jerking me backwards. I fell onto my back, April flyng out of my arms, and landing next to me.

"What the hell was that?" April cursed, standing to her feet. There was a huge hole in the knee of her jeans, and her knee was bleeding slightly. She cursed as she wipped some of the blood away with her fingers.

"Here." I said, looking around for something to tie around her knee to stop the bleeding. Finding nothing, I tore off the sleeve of my jacket, and wrapped it around the wound. She flintched as I tied it into a knot, and stood to my feet. "That should stop the bleeding."

"What about infection?" she asked, placing her hands on her hips. "I need to go home!"

"You can't!" I said.

"And why not?" April said.

"Because.." I said, kicking the dirt with my shoe. In reality, I had no idea why I couldn't just take her back to her home. Maybe it was the fact that the douche that kissed her was on the look out for her, and I don't think I could keep a cool head even by the sight of him.

April groaned, and sat on the ground. "Then I'll sit here until they find me." I looked at her, and frowned.

I've let my mate down.

'Woah Bieber.' I said in my head. 'Mate? This is just some school girl crush, dude. No mate.' I looked back at April as she pulled at the grass beneth her legs, up-rooting them from the ground, and tossing them over to the side. She looked up at me with her warm, brown eyes, and a small smile spread across her face. She quickly looked down in an attempt to drop the eye contact.

She was mad at me.

I looked away, and sighed. I looked over at my dad, as he lay next to me. He looked up at me, then looked back down. I frowned, and sat next to him.

"What am I going to do?" I muttered to myself, but with my dad laying right next to me, he overheard me. He whinned, and placed his head on my right thy. I scratched behind his ear, and he made a weird noise. I pulled my hand back, worried that I was turning him on.

He removed his head from my thy, and curled into a ball, quickly falling asleep. I sighed, and felt the cool breeze blow through my hair. I could smell rain, even before the first rain cloud could appear.

"April." I said, not looking at her. "I know you hate me right now, and don't disagree with me about that, but it's going to rain. We need to find shelter."

"I don't hate you-"

"We need to find shelter." I repeated. "Or your going to get sick."

"Can't we just go back to my house?" she asked. "I mean, you ran pretty fast, and the sky is clear." I shook my head.

"We can't go back there." I said.

"Why not?" April asked again. I stood to my feet, and walked over to where April sat.

"When we find somewhere to stay for the night, I'll tell you." I said. I brought my hand down, offering it to her. She took it, and I lifted her to her feet. She took her hand away from mine, and walked infront of me.

I frowned, not wanting to let go, but knowing I had to control my emotions. I followed behind her, and as I passed my sleeping Dad, I kicked his side. He yelped, and growled at me.

"We're moving." I muttered. He silenced his growling, and followed by my side as we both followed April.

After about an hour of walking, we found another abandoned cave. Thunder rolled above us, and we quickly ran into it.

"Now will you tell me?" April asked. "Why can't we go back to my house?"

I sighed. "Your not going to believe me when I tell you." I said, standing. I paced infront of her, and she sighed.

"Well right now, I think we left because you were mad at Jason for smarting off to you." she said.

"'Thats part of it." I replied. "The majority of the reason is something I've kept a secret for my entire life. I've known this time would come, and I took it for granted." I looked over at my dad as he nodded.

"Why is the wolf-bear thing following us?" she whispered.

"He can hear you." I told her. "No need to whisper." She rolled her eyes. I walked over to where she sat, and squated so I was eye level with her.

"That wolf-bear thing, is my dad." I said. "And the reason we can't go back to your house is because..I'm a werewolf, and your my mate."

Okay this was short :/ oh well. Hope u enjoyed :P
